Why no decent songs for Ex-Factors?!
Why do the winners of shows like X-Factor (and also those who don't win but get recording deals anyway) record such dire songs? Leona's newest "Bleeding Love" is a prime example, what a pile of tosh, while her debut (not even fit for Sandals holiday adverts IMO!) is possible the worst song ever written, "That's my goal" was atrocious and another cover of "Against all odds" "Evergreen" was ok for Will Young on Pop Idol but it was still a bit sh*t really wasn't it? Michelle McM'c song was pants too, as were Sam and Mark's (Pop Idol), One True Voice don't even get me started etc etc, I could go on forever I reckon.
Is it any wonder that all these acts disappear down pop's dark dumpster after 1/2 singles? With all the money that's floating around Cowell and the rest of the production/record company, you'd think they'd hire some decent songwriters (Scissor Sisters, Cathy Dennis, Gary Barlow if you're in to such commercial pop stuff) and get the acts recording some up-to-date, unique, decent catchy music rather than bland, overblown, forgettable/too dire to forget ballads where the producer has his finger pressed firmly on the 'rock-a-ballad' drumbeat button on his Cassio keyboard.

actually it surely is.
If the song was crap it wouldnt sell well. Same as any artists songs. If its not worth buying, people wont. I wish these haters would clear of with their stupid threads that serve no purpose. |

Look at all the crap one hit wonders that have sold well to get to number one over the years. Mr blobby, Macarena, Spitting Image. The Chicken Song And as for people clearing off with stupid threads I would understand if this was a leona fan site forum but it is not a Leona forum its is a public forum so anyone can post anything to do with X factor. even if you, me and everybody else didnt like it. also I didnt see him/her say they hated Leona only not liking the song. |

If a song was crap it wouldn't sell? Dear me, do you want me to list some examples? I'm sure you do, so here you go: Mr Blobby Cheeky Girls (Touch my bum) Any Westlife Take That "Shine" Any Blue song So so many I can't be bothered to go on. |

Well I'd hope to think that sort of number wern't deaf, it's a quality song if you don't like it you obviously lack taste.
he/she dont like it. you do like it. none of you are better than the other for what you like in music. |

EXCUSE ME? How dare you attempt to rubbish my well-thought out, insightful thread? Just because you enjoy the hyper-sonic warblings of Leona and her bland drivel, don't label me a hater for feeling otherwise. Why should your opinion be taken as gospel and any to the contrary be seen as "hater" opinion?

BL is a fantastic song and is not "tosh". And Leonas no one hit wonder either. She had three songs in yesterdays top 60. That is virturally unheard off. Give over and stop trying to force your unjustified opinions down peoples throats. p.s Take That Shine is a brilliant song. And Blue/Westlife have fanbases who do deserve success for some of their songs. |

Some people just see the name of their beloved act and ignore all reason, I guess that'll never change for a forum that has no elitism and is open to all members of the public

But thats your opinion. dont present it as fact. The song is not pants, and Leona certainly hasnt been lumped with songs that are of that quality. How would you know-have you heard her album?!

I can have my opinions on your thread if I want to.
Take That "Shine" was sub-par IMO, I don't know if you're old enough to remember TT in their heyday but had they peddled that happy-clapper rubbish continuously back then they never would've become the legends they are today. IMO IMO IMO Jeez. |

Taste is a very personal thing, one mans meat and all that.
I also happen to think Leonas song is rubbish. I'm not a fan of hers but do concede that she has a good singing voice and should be given something more contemporary to sing, not something that sounds like a Mariah Carey album track. I'd love to hear her sing something funky and edgy. Plus the fact that my eccentric Yorkshire granny used to prefix everything with the word "Bleeding" so it just makes me think of a small woman in a pinnie, curlers and milk bottle bottom glasses shouting at my granddad to "get out that bleeding pigeon loft, and wash yer bleeding hands before you eat yer bleeding tea!" |

Personally, I even prefer Celine Dion's latest offering over it. I think you need to accept that musical taste is purely subjective and that just because someone doesn't like Leona's song doesn't mean that they are a hater or whatever other spin you want to put on it. I'm not a Leona fan at all, she didn't show the slightest bit of personality in last years show. However Bleeding Love is a fantastic song, it sounds modern and also shows off her great vocal range which is unusual for an X Factor artist.

no where did he/she say it was facts and he/she didnt say they had heard the album. Plz carm down and talk about this like adults by asking what he/she dont like about the songs, instead of jumping on the OP back right away. |

Thanks hitnmix but there's no point with certain FMs, I've had my back jumped on by her before anyway and I'm still here, fighting the good fight!
I'd like to get back on topic though, with the exception of Leona's latest offering does anyone else agree/disagree with my opinions, or can anyone give a reason why all the good songs are reserved for Kylie, Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears, as they seem to have the monopoly on catchy pop songs at the moment! IMO! Ha. |

Well the launch single is never the greatest song as it simply doesn't need to be! It is pretty much garunteed to be the fastest selling song of the year before the composer sits down to write one note! So why bother wasting a great song on that?
The one exception was Sound of the Underground, but that was in competition with another song so it had to be better than the average crap. |

It would be nice if one of them could bring a very up-tempo catchy song out when they win. |

I agreed with you up until the bit in bold. Personally, I find both those artists to be boring and Justin's voice annoys me lately.
Jason Clarat, I agree about "sound of the underground" and some of GA's other songs, they're usually pretty enjoyable and you can have a good boogie to them. In fact, I'd say that for some reason they have had their pick of decent songs while other artists have been left wanting... I...M...O... ok I'll stop with that now
