But I went for a look over here and wow, they really go to town don't they?

Shame that your first few posts go though moderation before being posted, but after that they really let rip.

Can't see why so many there are saying Kate should "do the decent thing" and step down, it's not her fault.

LCDMAN..........Glad to be back is DS land!

Ooh er!!!

Poor Kate!!! Anyone would think she manoeuvered this on purpose!!!

Maybe people should - you know - get a grip!

blimey!!

interesting what they said about Kelly and one other person having dance lessons before SCD started - wonder who the other one was....

and wonder who complained about it?

Even if she did step down - and I'm not saying that I think she should - what difference would it make? Gabby's still out, people still didn't vote for her. All that's going to happen is that someone else (maybe Kenny) gets all that vitriol directed towards them instead.

They're (Kenny and Kate et al) putting in the hours it's just that they're not necessarily very good. But when you (and I'm well aware OP that you're not saying that, it's a general you) say things like 'oh they're making a mockery of the compeition', it's just plain silly.

Penny I believe is the other one.

I do question how Len gave both Penny and Matt a 9 ...

It's called speculation and conjecture - no one knows for certain that ANY of the competitors had previous lessons it's just another rumour that did the rounds in the first week or two.

well ok, but how many of you who haven't had dance training can do a flying split leap (and a pretty good one too)

As someone on the BBC board pointed out if she went to stage school she would have done ballet training - or dance training in some form or another, so would Letitia and Matt so why the fuss about Kelly and not these two???

It wasn't a very good split leap anyway - I bet Gabby could have done it 10 times better.

It is absolutely ridiculous to say a person has an advantage for having done something nearly 20 years ago. If you have even a few months gap in any sport you have practically to start again.

Gabby was a rhythmic gymnast and represented this country at it. Penny is a fitness instructer. Kelly, Alesha, Letitia have all had dance training and Matt went to Sylvia Young's so would have had some sort of movement training. So all these people have a head start over the others. Ultimately Strictly Champion should be a great dancer but it is great to see the progress of those who have never danced.

I thought Alesha hadn`t had proper dance training ?

She went to Danceworks in London but I see it has now been removed from Wikepedia.

I guess when you sing and perform in a girlband and appear in popvideos you will also get some dance training, not ballroom, but dance training and choreographies.

Correct. Yes Alesha was part of a girl band but she never received abnd proper dance training. She never went to stage school because she a MC, which really doesn't require you to act. Well I wouldn't have thought so. Each member of Mis-Teeq had their own speciality, Alesha was MC, Sabrina was singing and Su-Elise was the dancer.

I like it over there, you are not jumped on by fanatical fans, and no boring fan/appreciation threads.

The most annoying thing is the pre-moderation on your first few posts - I want to make my point NOW, not when some mod can be @rsed to decide it's OK! It's much better on here.

LCDMAN......{About to get banned for one of his other posts!}

It doesn't last forever LCDMAN. I have just been put on pre-mod again because I said something about Gabby going before the live show. Not just me. The thing is, the BBC published the fact during Sunday afternoon on one of their websites, so we all thought everyone knew anyway!!!!!!!! What is extra funny is that my post was not removed until today and it is today that I am being pre-modded again.

I like the BBC messageboards though, been posting there for yonks.

It was Penny apparently (who had had the lessons).

I have no particular problem with people having training, I think it's inevitable

but Kelly seems to be more advanced than either Letitia or Matt (can't see either of them doing a split leap or trying to influence the choreography) which just makes me feel she's had more than others, that's all!

I disagree completely and for once agree with Arlene on this....... I learnt Scottish Country Dancing at school over 30yrs ago but could still do any of the dances with some technique

Many more people supporting Kate on other site than not. Just those that are against her are using very aggressive and nasty language to stand out.
