Public vote

Hi,

I think it's time for an end to the public vote.
It's obvious it's just a popularity contest for some of the voting public. I mean look at last year, Mark Ramprakash wasn't the best dancer. And even the year before, Zoe Ball or Colin Jackson should have won.

If it carries on like this, someone like Kenny will win and Kelly and Matt (who are the best dancers in my opinion) will be voted off.

At least if the Judges had the complete vote, then it would just be about the dancing, and not who likes who more, or who the public think the better looking are.

IT'S ALL ABOUT WHO IS THE BEST DANCER...WHY CAN'T ANYONE SEE THAT!!!

Cheers

Only that's exactly what the judges do.

There would be no point in this show without the public vote, the judges are too busy playing favourites to do there job properly.

What about the money going to Children in Need ? I like the fact that the public decide to be honest. At the end of the day we can only have one winner anyway, and it is usually someone who can dance and deserves to win from dancing prowess and not popularity over talent. It is immaterial who leaves when up until then but obviously people get peeved when it is a favourite.

I can understand your frustration - though in my opinion Mark WAS the best dancer - but it is supposed to be raising money for Children In Need.
Maybe they could have two classes of dancing.
Absolute Beginners and Natural Talent.
That way, the beginners would be competing amongst themselves and the more talented will be doing the same.
I think that would generate more revenue too!!

Perhaps they would do better doing away with the judges scores. dont you think that then determines who the public vote for? they vote for the vulnerable ones at the bottom and those in the middle are then in trouble. If we didnt have a score board during the show then maybe it would help. It seems to be working with X Factor as they have generally the lesser singers in the bottom 2.

Quite astonishing that so many seem to have so much faith in our scrupulously impartial and wonderfully consistent judges.

I think so as well, I think it'd stop a lot of the sympathy voting and the judges over scoring.

Yeah, I understand the money aspect of it. But can't they allow the public to phone vote on say, what dances the couples have to dance the following week (still out of the two available). They wouldn't get as many votes, but lets face it, the public, phone vote for everyting nowadays. I mean who the hell phones Saturday kitchen and chooses what dish the chefs have to cook!!!
