Giving people low votes is bullying?

Is it "bullying" now to give the dancers a low score? Apparently so, according to whoever is on that Strictly Come Dancing behind the scenes thing that's on BBC2 at the moment.

She was telling Len the judge that people feel they should save the ones he's "bullying" via giving low votes to.

It was probably just a really, really poorly thought out choice of words on the presenters part but I'm still shocked she said it at all.

How ridiculos. It's voting on a bad dance and lack of talent

I don't think she meant giving the low scores was bullying it's the comments that go with it, for example "you had the grace of a vacuum cleaner" or "you danced like conan the barbarian"

I think people need to start taking it in the spirit of the show.

If the viewers wanted sob stories they'd switch over and watch The X Factor.

The low marks aren't bullying - but the accompanying comments are!

Whilst the judges are there to "judge" they are also there to offer CONSTRUCTIVE criticism and suggestions for improvement - not demolish any confidence or ignore any improvement shown by the weaker dancers.

Message to Craig - we're not asking you to say that Kate and Kenny are wonderful - what we ARE looking for is no personal swipes and petty point scoring. You KNOW that both of them ARE putting in the training (you review the mid week tapes after all!) so why feel the need to be quite so nasty and destructive when you do your critique on Saturday.

This Saturday why not try saying something CONstructive to Kate and Kenny and leave the references to "entertaining for all the wrong reasons" and remarks about gorillas in the green room.

If you can't say anything nice - don't say anything at all!

That's a fair and true point, but the presenter didn't say a lot about the comments, mostly the votes. As I said, it was possibly just dodgy phrasing on her part but it still made me cringe.
