What is the most appalling fashion mistake you've made??

For me, I once tried to go out wearing the following ensemble:

*A pink nylon party dress with a full skirt, sash and bow, with white lace trim
*A red and orange checked woollen poncho with red fringing
*White lacy tights
*Black wellingtons

In my own defence, I'd like to point out that I was 6 and that someone spotted me before I got out the front door!!!!

Care to share????

I used to have a flourescent yellow shell suit when I was 11, I thought I was the bee's knees!

A made it very recently - Ugg boots - fake, rip off ones at that

Worse still...pink

I thought they looked comfy, warm and fashionable...but I looked like a cross between a granny on a sheep-shearing farm...and Jodie Marsh. And they beacame sweaty, dirty and manky really quickly...like a sheep's bum.

What was I THINKING?

These are all from when I was a kid in the late 80's/90's.

A pink shell suit which I was always told not to go near fires when I was wearing it-especially on bonfire night

A purple polka dot skirt and top

Pink trousers with flowers all over them-I have a Xmas photo taken at school for a calender wearing them with a pink jumper with a lace collar and a flowerly pattern on.

Bodysuits-need I say more

A black jacket with a Take That photo on the back.

Just remembered another one!!

Acid yellow trousers with an elasticated waistband! (nice! ) teamed with

A green polyester T-shirt with a printed photo of a little girl kissing a little boy on a bridge over a river!!!!

Bodysuits......I thought I was cool in them. It was either that or a dress, wasnt too into them so picked the bodysuits. Seem to remember having a horrendous mickey mouse one And one with pictures of pears all over, must have looked so attractive!

Black velvet dungarees with a white batwing cheesecloth blouse underneath.

At best I looked like Minnie Mouse...at worst-don't go there!

My entire clothing life has been a fashion disaster

My worst would be when I had this hideous Blue and Yellow coat that my mum bought me, bless her. It was dreadful. There's one photo somewhere of me in it. I cringe when I come across it. I look like I'm 10 stone heavier than I was.

Now I take full control over my fashion disasters. I'm wearing a pink and grey striped jumper today which at one point I wouldn't dare ware but I love it. It's a bit bold but one day this Summer I looked at myself and thought I always wear black! So now it's all colours... pink, green, red, blue... not all at the same time unless its a special occasion.

Dear god, so many! Bright pink and lime green rara skirt stands out in my memory as the most hideous though...
I quite liked my tie dyed blue and green dungarees

Um, I remember I had a bronze boob tube which I wore with knickerbockers, topped off with a matching bronze band around my forehead, like in Xanadu.
innocent.

Dungarees, it was the eighties and I wasn't the only one, I blame Dexy's.

Haha, didn't notice that was you that started the thread. I might have to print it off an distribute...

On the other hand I dont want the delight of my fruity clothes being discussed amongst everyone I know so I might just let you off

Funnily enough, I don't think I've ever really worn something dreadful...I don't want to gloat but I was that kind of little kid with the little angelic face who looked cute in anything.

I probably looked slightly daft most of the time at age eight or nine-ish, but that's allowed, isn't it? I wanted to look older than I was, y'see, so I was clopping about in these tan, heeled ankle boots and straight-legged jeans. I thought I looked all grown up but I just looked like I thought I looked grown up. Still quite sweet, though.

As fun as the 80s sounds, I don't think I could bear being older and looking back at photos of me in leggings or whatever else daft y'all wore, and with......big hair!

Remember those Global Hyper-Techni-Color-whatsit tshirts? The ones that used to change colour when heat was put on them? Kids used to come up to you in school and grab parts of the tshirt to blow on to! lol.

Lawks, can't believe I had one, they looked awful...!!!

It was a pink and purple shell suit in the 80's, I used to wear it with a Kylie and Jason t-shirt underneath! Oh the humanity!

Just a mullet I'm afraid.
It was a good one though, grade 2 at the front going to that nice woolly long bit 'round the back!
It was 1987. We just had to have them.

A pair of bright yellow braces (braces, as in the kind old men use to keep their trousers up) when I was a teenager.

I thought I looked amazing with jeans, t-shirt and my braces. The photographic evidence my Sister's kept for the past 20 years , as possible blackmail material, tells a different story

How about :

Black & White Zebra Stripped Skin Tight Jeans
Black Suede Fringed Ankle Boots
Brown Suede & Leather Fringed Jacket
Permed Mullet
Ripped/Slashed T-Shirt
Multiple (>100) Multi-Coloured Metal Bangles

Bon Jovi had a lot to answer for in the mid 80s.
