I know some people who wear the same clothes all week and others who change their clothes three times a day.
Personally i change my socks everyday, but wear things like jeans for two days. Daily routine - Work clothes- change into house clothes when i get home- if i need to go out shopping etc change agin-when i get home, change into new house clothes- bath then PJ'S. Never wear the same clothes 2 days in a row, new underwear, new night clothes, new everything every day. all my clothes have to be put into the wash as soon as they leave my body. Weekends are even worse if i have to be in and out. My OH and Son have to change out of their work/nursery clothes before they can relax at home, you pick up dirt at work, public transport etc. Funnily enough i don't mind clothes getting messy, mud/paint/food (i have a todler) but when its time to change its time to change Ive gone through 3 washing machines in 2 years |

The only clothes that I wear more than once before washing are jeans and PJs, both of which I will wear two or three times. Unless I am going out, I only wear one outfit a day, but get changed into PJs as soon as I get home from work!
Like others, if I don't have to leave the house, I can wear my PJs all day! |

These sort of questions are quite interesting i think because i cant think of anywhere else where a question like this can be asked and get answers.
We would never go into work and tell people these sort of facts would we? Often wondered of my wife was average or not when it came to frequency of clothes changes. seems about average. |

I can understand changing a lot if you have a medical condition like dermatitis or if you do a lot of manual work but not if you are in good health and just do a regular job.
Same if you wash your hair too often you wash out the natural oils. |

Okay, I've decided to chip in, if only to make any lazy bastards who are lurking out there feel a bit better.
![]() ![]() Underwear, well pants every day, socks everyday, tights mostly everyday, but I have been known to recycle ![]() Tops, light cottony tshirty things everyday (mostly) Tops that are more difficult to wash, after two or three wearings. Jumpers/Cardies, if they're wool then I try to wash them as little as possible, after about three/four wearings. I will hang them out to air in the meantime though. Trousers, not very often. The thought of washing jeans daily astonishes me. I almost never wash skirts. I mean, you don't sweat on a skirt now do you? Jammies, once a week if you're lucky!!! The thing is, it isn't actually very good for clothes to wash them too often (obviously this doesn't apply to underwear and jammies and the like.) I don't think I smell. ![]() But then, I'm not the most active of people. |

But I would say it's more than jusgt a 'trad' OCD. You only live once. Just add up all the extra time you waste on OCD every day and extrapolate that to years. You'll be horrified |

Be lazy - go naturist!
I'm a housewife but I go to the gym in the morning for about 3 hours, when I get back I do the housework in the nuddy & then I have a shower & fan about with no clothes on too. I often sit here at my computer stark naked (I put a nice fluffy towel down on my computer chair). I get dressed for when Hubby comes home into something sexy most eve's . I don't wear bedclothes but have a nice robe in case anyone knocks on the door; I just tell them I'm having or just had a shower. All my family & friends know I'm a fitness freak so having a shower in the middle of the day does n't phase them. The postperson - I don't care what she thinks tbh.So I suppose on most days I wear two lots of clothes, the gym stuff obviously I wash after one session as they are so sweaty. The evening outfit I sometimes wear twice, as I don't have it on for long tbh. |

You'll be horrified I think it's about being comfortable, And im just uncomfortable in clothes that I have already worn. I like the way clean clothes feel. I also have about a million bed covers, but i can live with changing those twice a week

I wear one outfit a day and wash things that are smelly.
If I'm going out then I'll change into something more slaggy. |

I change mine and the kids things daily.
I couldn't put clothes back in the wardrobe/chest of drawers knowing that i'd already worn them. |

Even though I love clothes so much I dont have that many (not enough money to "waste" lol) sometimes I find myself wearing a piece of clothing one day then the next day aswell, usually because what I want to wear is in the wash lol
If I had more clothes Id wear different outfits everyday but I always change my underwear everyday, thats just wrong and dirty if people dont do that

Clean clothes everyday. Sometimes I will wear trousers/skirt/jeans for two days but everything else is clean.
I can't believe some people would wear underwear/socks for more than a day! ![]() I would never put something that's been worn back in the wardrobe. My friend used to iron things she had worn and it made me feel sick. |

I change my clothes twice a day during the week. I change out of my work clothes every day, and into something more 'me'. Everything gets washed as soon as I've worn it, with the exception of jackets/coats, which I take to the dry cleaners when needed.

Clean clothes everyday. I can not wear anything twice.
Outdoor jackets once a week. My washing machine is hardly ever off. |

I do know of this one guy though in uni who has wore the same shit for the last 2 years - no joke, and he smells too!
I call him 'tracksuit guy' ![]() I do wonder about him sometimes, and if I heard of a grisly murder in the southwest, I'd wonder even more. But he's probably a school teacher or a probation officer or a vicar or something entirely respectable now. Though, unless his hygiene habits have improved, still single. |
