philips model numbers? explain!
can anyone tell me what the model numbers on philips lcd's mean?
i know the first 2 numbers mean the screan size (obviously) but what about the rest? 32pfl9641d? 37pfl7662d? 32plf5522d? im assuming it has to do with the specs? ambilight? pixel plus? but im not sure? anyone know? |

PFL = LCD TV
PFP = Plasma TV xxxx = Model Number (5xxx bottom, 7xxx middle, 9xxx top) D = Digital Generally, you'll find the 5xxx range have Pixel Plus, the 7xxx range have Pixel Plus HD and the 9xxx range have Ambilight. Philips = Awful and Unreliable. |

i know that the 5's are bottom range 7's are middle and 9's are top but what about the other numbers?

They're irrelevent mostly, they correspond to the actually series that the TV is from.
IE the models you mentioned are current models. |

They generally don't mean much appart from a few key numbers (i.e. the 5, 7 and 9). The other numbers are just changed to signify the new model (ie 641 to 642)
