I've been looking for a portable device to store music, something small and portable, I know I could use a disc or a tape, but have recently become aware of things called flash and splash drives (I don't really know the difference) which plug into a USB port, incidentally, can USB connections handle two-way traffic, ie. data in and data out.
There is a similar looking bit of hardware called a memory stick. Could any of these be used to store music on, and, if so, how quickly can, say a tune somewhere in the middle of the stored contents be accessed. My apologies if this post should have gone under "Computers" but these devices are portable, and that was one of the criteria for this thread. BWTA. D.
