I`m going to a gig at the M.E.N. arena in a couple of weeks , does anyone know if it`s worth trying to get a proper camera in to the hall .

Why would you want to do that? Can't you just watch the concert and remember it?

I've never had a problem taking a camera to a gig or concert. I do tend to go to smaller venues - don't know if this makes a difference

I took a camera to the Sugababes at the NEC last year, none of the security/crowd people seemed to mind.

I've never had any probs at gigs I've been to.

Some tickets say not to on them, but they never really enforce it. Even when I've been told by mates "Oh, the band don't like cameras!!" it's been fine even right up at the front bar!

My own personal rule is that hand held, snap-shot style cameras are fine.

I wouldn't take a big professional camera or a video camera though.
If it's a normal digital or film camera I'd take it - nice to have some pics to look back on.

I've been to loads of different concerts here in Belfast at the Odyssey and have never had a problem. But I only ever take either a normal 35mm still camera or a Digital camera. I know Video cameras are a no-no though. Not too sure about the big professional ones though

my only experience is with digital cam as others have said don't know about big professional ones, but as someone says it depends on the band, only band I have seen that were strict with security were MCR, but that being said, loads of people still managed to get them in (myself included)... with the norm on mobiles now being having a phone I think it is harder and harder for the rule to be enforced....back in the day you'd never get one in and if you did the flash would be a dead giveaway and you'd be turfed out in seconds if you tried lol
