Best Mentor?
Which judge would you consider to be the best mentor? I have to say I am really liking Dannii. She's nice and offers some of the best advice at the same time.

Early days for Danni yet but over the past 4 series I would probably rank them:
Simon Louis Danni The Conway Sisters Sharon |

I rank The Conways above Sharon as they really seemed to care for their act when they mentored themselves back in Season 2 and their song choices were better than Sharon's.

Simon IMO. He knows what to do with people, he gets what they're about. He knows what will sell and what is popular, so even if you are sh*t he can at least make you do something which is going to be popular and win you votes.
Then Dannii. Takes an active interest and just seems like a really good, supportive mentor although she sometimes has bad judgement ie. Leon. But all in all, she cares and is constructive. Louis is an idiot. I'd leave the competition if he was my mentor. Unless you are super amazingly good, and have your own thing going on and need no decent mentoring whatsoever (eg. Shayne) then you have no chance with Louis as your mentor. Sharon. Haha, well her walking out on her acts says it all don't you think? |

Simon at least picks half-way decent songs for his acts, but in terms of hands on stuff, i'd probably go with Dannii.

I'd say Simon. Although he does have his favourites, he knows what will sell and he normally picks good songs. He knows how to get the votes for his acts.
Then I'd say Dannii. She really seems to care for her acts, is supportive and constructive. She does make mistakes, can pick some bad songs, but I think she is a good, caring mentor. Louis is bad, and I agree with laura_saulafan, I would not be happy to him as my mentor! He doesn't really seem to have a clue, and slipping Westlife in whenever he can is annoying. And then Sharon. Well, Sharon is just terrible. |

Simon most definitely. Like said before, he gets he acts, is able to pick decent songs, is honest and firm but fair, giving the right advice. Also helps that this is his show!
Dannii seems like a good mentor to me. She's new to this, so might explain why she is this way, but it's a good thing. It appears she genuinely cares for her acts, and gives good advice and support, and from what i've read is much more 'hands on' and works more personally with her acts than the others. Also may help that she is younger, more aware (Sharon is living in the 1940s or something). If she stays, this may all change down the line, as the other judges have done, seemingly not caring about their acts much, and being more in it for their own agendas Louis- he isn't too bad, but sometimes fails to connect with his acts, and doesn't totally get them (Daniel springs to mind immediately). but he does seem to care, he just annoys me when he can't stick up for his acts once they've been bashed by other judges, saying they are a nice person is as bad as being kicked in the crotch. That being said, he did do well with his groups, i think he is best mentoring them. Sharon- well what can i say. I should cry myself to sleep if i had her, really i would. She just isn't all there is she? And for someone who is supposed to be 'hip' for her age, she's making a right dog's dinner of her young acts this year. She is pretty loyal though, and knows how to stick up for her acts, if that counts for anything. Overall, if i was in the show, i would like to have Simon, as i'm guessing most of the acts would. |

If you want to win you're best off with Simon, because he can make that happen, if you are his chosen one. I used to think Louis was the best for actually developing people afterwards - Girls Aloud he did a good job with (or whoever he handed them over to) and G4 were certainly better off than Steve. But now I think Simon, Sharon and Louis are burnt out. It's about their TV careers now, not what happens to the acts afterwards. Danni seems to be doing a reasonable job with the boys, she seems more constructive and less attention seeking at least, but she isn't protecting them from dodgy song choices and we'll have to wait and see if she really cares what happens to them afterwards.
I used to believe they were really looking for new talent. I was a complete mug, in other words. |

Simon was always my favourite but now I'm really liking Dannii.
Who on earth would say Sharon was best?

Haha, I agree. Poor songs choices, walks out on her acts and more often than not away in America or just away with the fairies.

Yeah or drunk and senseless...sorry but she's just awful! You'd be as well just withdrawing from the competition if you end up in her category
![]() A tramp off the street being mentored by Simon, dressed in a bin liner singing 'my humps' would have a better chance of winning than any of sharon's acts |

she is a poor mentor isn't she? she's too busy trying to flirt with Louis and Simon and compete with Dannii and be the centre of attention and think up new and weird comments to say and body parts she wants to see, she's a busy lady with her own issues to deal with.

I think that Danni is the best mentor cause she genuinally seems to care about her acts, whereas the other judges couldn't really care less!!! Danni has apparentely been the only judge who has gone to where the finalists are staying to see them and is the only one who has worked closely with them.
I think that she gives valid oppinions most of the time and she is the only one that seems to comment on the finalists voices rather than their stage presence or clothes. I know those things are important, but the voice is the most important thing! I think that Danni is lovely and the only truely genuine one out of all of the judges. |
