Hi, I currently own a Toshiba Equium M50-192 laptop and want to connect it to a VIEWSONIC N3246W 32" HD Digital LCD TV.

I'm fairly sure both have an s-video connection on them but am unsure how to connect the audio as the laptop doesn't appear to have the standard coloured audio connectors on it...

Does anyone have any suggestions or know for sure what is required to connect the two?

Thanks

According to their website that TV has a VGA socket on it, so simply connect via VGA - far, far, better quality than S-Video.

Doesn't help with sound though. Thats video only .... although teh quality would be better.

Does the laptop have any headphone looking sockets?

Mine has one with SPDIF (3.5mm jack) which I use to send stereo sound to my amp. My TV has VGA and 3.5mm jack for sound .... but I use 3.5mm to twin phono to put sound through mp amp.

According to the machine spec at http://www.ciao.co.uk/Toshiba_Equium_M50_192__6480004 it has a 3.5mm headphone socket.

So a simple 3.5mm jack to two phono cable. The kind of thing people use for connecting portable equipment to Hi-Fis
