Louis is the new Simon?
I think maybe Simon wants to leave, and the producers have passed on his mean streak to Louis.
He really needs better script writers though, accusing Leon of having no charisma is really the kettle calling the pot black. It's not really believable. Maybe he should start wearing all black and go gothic. |

I felt sorry for leon on Saturday, Louis remarks, Simon saying he looked petrified - yet not one comment about his vocals

that's because they can't fault his vocals, and he knows it. Aslong as he ignores them, and builds his confidence he'll be fine. I'm looking forward to his performance saturday, it's his theme!

They aren't going to mention Leons vocals because undeniably he is an exceptional singer and funnily enough he's in neithers category.
I used to like Louis but this year he's getting on my nerves. His comments towards Same Difference have been disgusting and like Simon with Leon he neglects to say much about the performance that he is supposed to be judging. He's becoming as bad at that as Simon is, but for some reason we come to expect it of Simon, but Louis just comes across as pure spite. |

Leon's vocals are adequate and his top notes were flat. The judges were quite right to pull him up on his wooden performance, it was diabolical. Leona was awkward on stage but her voice was phenomenal. Leon does not have a phenomenal voice to compensate for his lack of presence.
The attitude towards Same Difference is more Louis bordering on offensive, although I can see why he doesn't "get" them. Simon is targetting a young/pre teen audience with Same Difference and I think Louis probably doesn't see the same potential in that market. |

I think the main difference between Simon, and Louis and Sharon too come to that, (Danni is still proving herself) is that the singers still respect Simons comments. Whereas Louis and Sharon are swiftly losing respect with their pointless and catty remarks. |

I agree with you, Louis is starting to look like a very spiteful little man, and, is fast losing any credibility he might have had.

Saw Louis on Paul O'Grady and he rated the three favourites as Rhydian, Niki and Futureproof - also possibly 'the little Scottish guy and the little Welsh guy'. Interestingly he didn't mention Hope?

I'm new to X-Factor and whenever I caught a glimpse of last years show I always imagined Lous as the bubbly judge who always smiled and was nice to everyone but seeing him attack Leon on Saturday was pathetic. I though Leon improved VERY much since the week befores show and looked very comfortable singing his favourite song. He looked at the camera, was smiling, his face wasn't blank, didn't stay in one position and finished the song with a cheeky babyface look.
There was no need for Simon or Lous to attack him on his confidence. Sure, he might not be Rhydian but he's only 18 and is obviously a nervous person. Seeing his video on his myspace proves how different he is when he's not on stage. He joked he was lifting 1003 weights and said "just working on the guns there". Could Simon or Louis do any better? No. They just sit at a table and hurt peoples feelings and then get paid millions. I would love to see them try and sing. |

The mean and nasty persona seems to work with Simon Cowell as he has that 'couldn't give a damn' attitude to everything but with a slight twinkle in his eye whereas it doesn't work with Louis as he looks too much like a baked potato for anybody to take seriously.
Also it just seems like he is doing it to get back at Simon for his negativity against the McDonald's last year. It is all a bit  |

Louis has always been like that. I love him and think he is the best judge by far.

If Leona had been constantly criticised about her stage performing (which was awful to watch, IMO) last year....I wonder if she'd have started to warble and lose it? After all, she was presented as a shy girl who didn't know how good she was. However, no-one is beyond being affected by criticism like Leon gets. I think, however, Leon does have a phenomenal voice. Just a taste matter, I think. Many others on DS also find Leon amazing. ![]() Quote:
