which amp to buy?

hi i got a homecinema system with my tv. It all links through a dvd player and works using pro logic II which i really like. I recently bought a v+ box which can do optical and the dvd player cant recieve optical inputs. What i want to know is

Which is a good amp to buy

Will be able to take inputs for my speakers( those little black and red cables)

Is it worth the upgrade?
