New TV - is this model any good?
My local Morrisons store are currently selling the Sony Bravia KDL32U3000 model for £499.
Is the TV any good bearing in mind i haven't got SKY HD? I will be using it to view my Sky+ and playing my Xbox 360. Thanks |

The only member of staff at work who has bought an LCD actually bought a U series, and she's very happy with it. Bear in mind Sony LCD's now come with a 5 year 'guarantee' (insurance policy!), but the U series is excluded from this. |

If i were you I would pay a little extra (£569) and get a samsung 32" with free DVD recorder from Currys.co.uk
And remember Samsung make the panels for Sony, Sony are not as good as they used to be! |

ok so even if samsung make them or they are made in a samsung & sony partner ship there is then no reason to get a sony over a samsung.
So i still hold firm, get a 32" samsung for £569 with free DVD-R |

Apart from that, no reason! ![]() However, the Samsungs aren't a bad picture, it's not like a Bush or anything! - just not as good as the Sony's. As long as you don't compare them the Samsungs are fine, I'd be happy enough with one - assuming I came across one at a really, really, silly price. |

Apart from Sony are a more reputable manufacturer, the Sony set is almost certainly more reliable, the Sony (even the cheap U series) is a better picture than the Samsung, and the Sony sets have better sound than Samsungs.
On the subject of sound I've yet to hear a decent LCD although the Sonys I have heard do sound marginally better than Samsung. Don't come close to the sound from a CRT, and that's saying something cos the sound on CRT's is pretty rank ! ! |

The 28 inch CRT Sony KV28LS35U was replaced by the 'new model' KV28LS36U - pretty well the only difference was that the 35 had a sub-woofer, and the 36 didn't!. I think you can imagine what that did to the sound quality?. |
