Is this a good TV?
Sony Bravia 32" KDL-32S3000U
That is the television we are thinking of going with for our main room television. We have found it for £580. Is it a television worth getting? and is it one of the later Bravia televisions, not an older one? I'm a big film fan, so will this be good for normal dvds? Is it best to order of the official sony site or something like Amazon? Also, do VCRs work fine on these new televisions because i bought a VCR for my Toshiba LCD HD television upstairs and the quality is awful when it records, all fuzzy/jumpy when the television screen is normal... Thanks for any help guys. xx Though anything is better than the normal television we have now... it's got lines going across it and the colours fading lol.

Try having a look at Amazon (www.amazon.co.uk)as they may have reviews from people who have bought this TV.
I am going for the Panasonic 32LXD700 having spoken to many owners who say it is a great TV. I will have a look in my What Hi-Fi magazine to see if they have reviewed the Sony and get back to you. |

I have checked Amazon and there are no reviews for this TV.
What Hi-Fi gave the 32D3000 5/5 so I would imagine that the S3000 would be much the same. If you Google in 'reviews for Sony 32S3000) you may get some results. Good luck! |

When shopping around & doing homework into it on the internet i found that Sony Pana or Samsung seem to be the best ones for my budget of 6-700 quid but i prefered the look of the Panny plus it looks good with my Panasonic hi fi which i run the sound through & i also have a Panny DVD player/recorder. |

Thanks guys for replies. We are probably going to go ahead and get this one. Our little philosophy is ANYTHING is better than the rubbish we have now, so any quality is better lol. About two years our television has had dodgy colours(not the settings, just the tv going wrong) and now for half a year we have had faint lines going across the whole screen, time it is dumped.
Heard mostly all good things about Sony Bravias, so looks like it's this one. We have always had Sony televisions, so it's definitely a Sony we want. Anyone know about the VCR thing? |

What you buy may depend on what you watch get a demo based on a reality of what you watch. So for example if you mainly will mainly be watching "normal" channels via freeview then the Panasonic is definitely better than the S3000. But for other sources the Sony may be better. |
