Computer crashed, how do I transfer Ipod to another computer?

I'm sure this has been asked before and must be a common event. My laptop went up the spout, with about 1700 songs on I-tunes. They are on my ipod, but I will need to set up a new I-tunes on another computer. Surely there must be a way of putting the songs from my Ipod onto this and carrying on. HELP!!

You can sychronise from your ipod, if you have a fresh un-registered version of Itunes running, plugging in your ipod offers you the chance to register and synchronise your music with your ipod.

If you've already registered it, you'l need to unistall and delete everything and re-install itunes again.

I periodically back everything up to a dvd, might not ever need it, but just in case...

No! Thats the problem. The long version of what happened is this:
Windows on my laptop was playing about and we couldnt get the internet. Chap who repairs it says easiest way is delete windows and reinstall. He brings external hard drive to load up my itunes and daughters pictures and other stuff. He leaves this plugged in when re loading windows, and this buggers up the hard drive, losing the"map" (whatever that is!). To try to find my stuff on his hard drive would mean reistalling this "map" at the beginning of the hard drive, which is where my 5gb of stuff is. So I am WELL pissed off!

I had this problem once and used a software called "Get Data Back". I think I had to pay something like $30 but it was worth it for the information stored on my hard drive. Got most of it back.

There is a way of copying the tunes from your Ipod onto your PC.

Install I tunes on the new PC.
Plug in the Ipod, and wait until it is recognised.
Come out of Itunes, and create a new folder on the desktop.
Go into My computer and locate your ipod
drag and drop all of the tunes in there into the new folder.
(this takes a while if there are 1700)
When that has finished, go back into Itunes
File> import folder
select the folder you have just created with all your tunes in.
Job done.

Hello,
Losing files is common when computer crashed. Luckily many people have stored the files on their Apple devices, such as iPod, iPhone, and so on.

So the questions about how to transfer iPod/iPhone files to computer appear. But Apple iTunes is helpless in the situation.

You can try iPhone 5 to computer Transfer, it can not only transfer files from iPhone 5 to PC, but also transfer iPod to computer. Have a good luck!
