Hey, i'm looking to buy a decent 32" TV for around £600/700, i was looking at including HD/Surround Sound etc and getting the whole shazam, but i think for now just the TV might be a better idea.

At the minute i have an old style JVC 22 inch which is starting to look really small, it's about seven years old and the sound is all but gone.

ANYWAY, the reason i ask about sound is that i want to just have the sound through the TV for now, so i need a good 32" picture, but also one with good sound quality. I've heard good things about Sony's and Samsung's, what do you guys think?

Cheers.

Samsungs tend to have much poorer sound than Sony's, but no LCD/Plasma really has great sound - you really need to go to a shop and listen to see which you like.

At that price point, check out the Panasonics. Great sound!

No such thing IMO as NG said above. Best bet is to use a decent pair of hi fi speakers through an integrated stereo amp. I use a pair of B&W's with a Rotel amp and get jolly fine results

Read the OP. Totally agree that the sound through a decent HiFi / AV system will be better, but the question was about the sound through the TV.

I have the ancient predecessor, the "52", nearly 2 years old. My brother-in-law has the "700" (I think - it is the top of the range 32" LCD anyway). Both of them have great sound (for TV integrated amps and speakers, pepperoni)
