as the title says - if Bruno had followed the rest of the Judges & given K&B an 8 on saturday would you be happier with what happen at the weekend

the simple answer is - yeah, because they would have been penalised and we'd have heard no more about it

Even if he'd given 9 there would have been less of furore. I belong to the minority who only expected the other judges to deduct one point. Rule breaking has never before been such an issue and it's only an issue now because it was Brendan Cole.

Happier about the outcome but would have still thought Brendan is an utter numpty for doing it.

Thing is, if they had have been given 8 then the positions on the board would have changed and we may have had a completely different result on Saturday...

Agreed, and agreed.

If someone chooses (inexplicably, IMO, as it wasn't especially worth it and added nothing to the dance apart from a bun fight) to break the rules, then so be it, they are taking the risk of being penalised by the judges. And 3/4 of the judging panel acted correctly. The remaining 1/4 judged inconsistently (yet oddly enough Brendan didn't regurgitate his rant about inconsistent judging from last year, did he? )

Yes, all the controversy of last Saturday could have been avoided if Bruno had judged with his head!!

Liftgate wouldn't have happened, the pecking order would've changed, Penny may have stayed out of the bottom two and we might possibly, therefore, have avoided Gabbygate!!

But of course...we shall never know.

That does rather suppose that the all other judges would have given 10 without the extra lift, and to be honest I'm not sure they all would - certainly couldn't see Craig reaching for the 10 this early in the game. But, that's for them to know and us to speculate

I would have been OK with a 9 from Bruno too - at least it would have been a nod in the general direction of the fact the rules had been ignored.

Yes, i think for once that I agree with craig. Since it has happened so often I think there needs to be more sever punishment to prevent them from doing it again.

I expected him to give a 9 & say he's knocked off a point for the extra lift. I would have felt that was fair.

Craig actually said on the night that the dance was worth a 10 - but he was penalizing B&K for the extra lift!

He also said Gabby's jive might have been worth a 10 if she hadn't made a mistake, I can't see Craig giving out that many tens this early in the competition.

An 8 or a 9 from Bruno would have given a whole different result I think...

Correct me if I'm wrong but wouldn't an 8 put them on the same level as Gabby? before the public vote? which could have affected the dance off!

I think Bruno should have given a 9,it was a beautiful dance but it did contain the little lift.To me,Bruno should be getting all the aggro, not Brendan. It's not his fault Bruno didn't penalise them.

but we wouldn't have this predicament had brendan not put the lift in so you can't put all the blame on one OR the other. It applies to both of them.

Regardless of the efect it may or may not have had on the overall renking last Saturday, IMHO the judges are meant to judge on the technical side of the dance which most viewers would not be expert to do.

So for Bruno to give a 10 when there was definitely an illegal lift was completely wrong

Yes. If he had given an 8 we could have respected him more as a judge.

Der Chef says

I personally dont separate this incident from any of the obvious over marking, under marking, favoritism , prejudging and other bizarreness that has came out of the judges and Bruno especially in all the years of strictly.

The GBP will ultimately be the judge of it and react accordingly.

Ohhh Yeah

I wouldn't have minded if Bruno had given him a nine. My problem is that Bruno doesn't ever really watcht eh other dancers he just watches his favourites. kelly and Brendan's Dance was not Perfect so it did not deserve a 10

DOUGHNUT!
