Looking for £500 amp/speakers

I hope this is the right place to post...

What I want to achieve is to replace the huge 80s stereo with something neater and to have a cinema system, what I currently have is -

LG32LX2R
Sky+ (will be changing to Sky HD soon)
Squeezebox
Wii
DVD player

After much reading, this seems good http://www.creative-audio.co.uk/HCS_DEN1507_KHT1005.htm but I don't like the speakers.

I unfortunately have an L shaped room, longest wall is about 20ft

At the moment I have phono leads from the TV to the stereo, if I want to use the squeezebox I have to unplug these and plug the s/b leads in.

I hope you guys can offer me some good advice. I can draw a pic of the room layout if that helps.

P.S I can get staff discounts on Samsung AV stuff, but I'm not sure whether thats any good?

Well, the budget went out of the window and I ended up getting a Denon 2808 and Kef 2005.2 speakers last night

It upscales and I have the Wii connected to the amp via component, I can get some intermittant sound but I can't get a picture on the screen!
