I just bought a Pioneer DV400-V and was hoping to watch my DVDs upscaled to 720p on my hdcp compliant Samsung 226BW. I'm using a hdmi-dvi converter plug attached to the dvi cable that came with the monitor. If I select 480p it displays fine but when I switch to 1280x720p I get a blank screen though the status panel of the monitor shows 1280x720.

I've read about this kind of problem but normally on monitors with dvi ports that are not hdcp compliant. I've also read lots about people using their XBOX360s and PS3s at the higher HD resolutions.

Any clues?

Except that my dvi port is hdcp compliant and others seem to get their next gen consoles to work ok.

And I'm not even trying to display HD content, I can't even see the players setup menu.
