Pc, Hdmi?
I need a bit of help. I want to find an easy but high quality way of connecting my pc to the tv so I can use it practicalyl as a monitor. We have a 32" LCT TV that has a HDMI port around the back. I saw a lot of tv's today with RGB and DCI ports but mine only has this kind of type.
![]() Is it possible to get a cable to go from the pc to the tv using HDMI? I know there's S-video but the text turns out so blurry and really only good for movies and music, etc. |

Most LCD TV's have a VGA port on the back?, if your's only has HDMI (which is digital only), and your computer only has VGA (analogue only), you can't connect them together. Easiest answer is probably to fit a better graphics card in your PC?, get one with either DVI or (preferably) HDMI output.

If anyone has any graphics card recommendations I'd be most pleased for this kind of job.

If I get one with DVI will it be one of those DVI to HDMI cables?

I have a ATI Radeon 2600 Series Graphics Card. In the box there is also a DVI to HDMI converter.
The good thing about the card is that it also installs a HDMI audio device on your PC so no need for an extra lead from line out to your TV for sound. |

Several shops are now offering VGA to HDMI converters at a reasonable price such as here
http://www.cableuniverse.co.uk/catal...Converter.html The price falls to about £25-30 on a well known auction site, just search using VGA & HDMI. Has anybody tried one of these, if so, are they any good. My main use would be to display JPEGs on my LCD TV in HD, and occasionally watch TV progs, I know these results would be rubbish, but for the odd missed episode, I would suffer that.
