iTunes and On-The-Go playlists

I'm just getting to grips with my new iPod Classic and iTunes, and I've noticed that iTunes keeps making playlists called "On-The-Go" with a number after them. I really don't want this stuff cluttering everything up, but as soon as I delete them, it seems another appears soon after.

I've looked through the preferences menus for something to unclick, but I cannot find anything that's made a difference.

Is there any way I can get rid of this annoying 'feature'?!

You add to the 'on the go' playlist by pressing and holding the centre button (on song/artist/album). once you have created a 'on the go' playlist thee is an option at the end of the playlist where you ca save the play list. I think that the play list will also be saved when you conect your ipod to your computer.

I dont know if youmight be manageing to do this, but have you got your ipod to update the playlist, which you have 'just deleted' does yo computer then put them back on???

As above, "On-The-Go" is a feature in all iPods with a screen that lets you create, edit, save and delete basic playlists on the go.

If they keep reappearing, it's because you keep making them on your iPod.

They are created when you hold down the select button on a song title/playlist name/artist name/album name.

So it's possible that you are doing it accidentally.

Oh, I see! Thanks, guys. This is my first iPod and I'm not to familiar with the click wheel.

Appreciate the help, thank you.

It's all in the instructions.

None of which came with my iPod - just a few simple ones like on/off. Would've been nice if they'd included a CD with the instructions, but have just downloaded instructions off internet!

I know they were never practical and often outdated, but I did like a big ol' manual that came with hardware/software in days of yore.

Click help on iTunes and it's all there.
