Itunes/Ipod Album Art

Does anyone know of any good free programmes I could use to fill in the gaps in my album art collections?

Most good tagging programs have the ability to pull art work off amazon.
I know Tag & rename does, as does Media Monkey I believe.
But as for one that will just search as pull off art work did't know there was such a thing.

I just search for the album cover on google images and cut & paste. 5 second job each time I load a new album.

How do you put the images into itunes?

Having found artwork on Google Images and done right click and copy (I tend to look for 200 x 200 or 300 x 300 size pictures). Highlight all the applicable album tracks then right click , Get Info. Click 'Yes' to pop up message "Are you sure you want..." then paste image into Artwork box and OK to save.

I'm not sure where it saves the pictures to (haven't looked, don't really care)!

Note - don't do a single track as you have to point it to a saved picture file

YOu can use pretty much any on line store (Amazon .com and .co.uk seem to have a pretty comprehensive collection of album covers).

You can drag and drop the album art (or indeed any old photo you like) into the box in the bottom left hand corner of iTunes where the album covers are displayed.

Drop the art into the first track of the album and your iPod also seems to pick it up. If you just drop it into any old track then iTunes correctly works it out but it may be missing on your iPod which reduces the satisfaction of using Coverflow somewhat.

I tried this at first but it didn't always pick up the picture in all cases for every track on an album.

Air Resistance - I assume you have turned on the Cover Flow View in ITunes. Quite a neat feature to browse your albums.

iTunes have a feature where you can pull a lot of the artwork now off the store. There's only a few where it hasn't.

The hours I've spent trying to rename the albums to exactly what iTunes call it so it will pull the artwork down it is just stupid. Didn't know about the drag and drop. Many thanks.

I didnt realise that you could get that from the itunes store either, i went through amazon searching for all my album names that the artwork was missing for it took me ages.

Now i feel totally and utterly blonde, and i am as well.

You can do it with the iTunes Store now apparently. Others have been borrowing them from Amazon too like me.

I'm just trying to get some artwork off iTunes now but it won't let me. I know I'm being a dimwit but how do I do it without having to adjust the album title to the one iTunes have all the time?

Ooooh... I assume now you just mean that you ask iTunes to get the artwork. I was already doing that but too often it won't because the title off your cd does not match the title in iTunes or they don't have that cd listed. In fact, I haven't been able to get artwork from iTunes for most my compilation cds and soundtracks. For the compilations I've had to find titles of 'best of' albums for the artist and just use that. It's tedious though but I'm anal and I can't have gaps in my flow view.

Thanks anyway to the person who offered the copy from Amazon and paste into the artwork box tip. Much faster than my save as, go into info then import it. Don't know why I didn't just try copying and pasting before. Numbnut.

You see, look at this...I put The Best of Climie Fisher (musical taste questionable I agree) and ask it to import the album artwork and I get an effing picture of Billy Idol's Greatest Hits. WTF?
