[Minefield]

I've recently brought one of these for my stepfather, but it's not acting as I had thought it might.
I want to take the stereo output from his TV (using a 2 plug stereo cable) and play it through this device. I've set this up but don't get any sound out of the rear speakers. I was expecting that it would be played through the Pro Logic II circuit as my AV system at home does.
Also is there a way of using the Viera link so that when you turn the TV on (also panasonic (TH-45PX70)) using the TV remote, the amp turns on as well in the right mode for outputing the TV's sound.
And then everything turns off again after use. i.e. he doesn't have lots of button presses to turn everything on and off.

Any help would be much appreciated.
