Vertical line down tv screen, tv or ps3?

Hi, hope someone can help me.

Got a PS3 about three or four weeks ago now and i have noticed that there is a feint vertical line in the middle of the screen.
If i use either the supplied scart lead or the full RGB one i have the line is there, although as the supplied scart is not full RGB the line is more in the middle than the other lead i have.

I do not have a HDTV so cannot test using a hdmi lead to see if the line is still there. My question is, should i take the PS3 back and explain about the line as it surely shouldnt be there.
It's bugging me a bit, but at the same time i have heard about some PS3's being louder than others, and mine seems quite quiet, so i dont want it replaced and then get a louder one.

Cheers for any help

I havn't noticed the line when using the tv, other than with the PS3.

I am going to try the PS3 on another tv to be sure, if the line is still there then i'll pop into game to see what they say.
Shame, because other than the line it has been a great machine

Thanks

Edit: Just tried the PS3 on my portable and i cannot see the line, must be somthing to do with the tv then.

have you tried another scart socket on back of telly?

Well the tv with the line is a widescreen philips (yeah i know lol but its been a good tv pretty much).

The other scart socket is not full RGB so you get them dancing dots on screen, cant think why they didnt just have both scart sockets as full RGB.
The settings on the PS3 are the lowest you can go, so that it works on a normal tv.

I have a mate with a PS3 so i will ask if he can come round with it and see if its the same using his, if it is then without a doubt its the tv, although i am pretty sure it is as it looked fine using my portable.

I suppose the best thing to do would be to buy a HDTV and connect via hdmi, then i'll have the bonus of HD images .

Right, time to close the thread.

On Friday my mate came round with his PS3, I connected it to the TV and the line was still there.
I conclude that it’s the TV with the problem, or possibly some local interference (although when I used my portable less than a meter away it was fine)

Thanks for all your help, I’m just glad its not my PS3 and don’t need to worry about taking it back.
