Yes... if he genuinely said "My performance was almost flawless and I still got 25" then I think he's got a screw loose

Possibly...

Yup.

Yes, I've noticed this too, but I think that there are other things which account for Dom's low marks!

Their criticism went over his head.

I thought his dance was rather too stiff and ungraceful even if it was true paso.

I can understand his comment though as I feel the judges in the past have underscored him and Gethin in the past.

There is no doubt that Bruno has Kelly has his fave - Penny is fave with the other 3 - John Barnes has Arlene as his fave (and Len too) whilst the rest the Judges are not that bothered about.

Lilia looked pissed off way before the final dance, she's was quite obviously used to her popularity carrying through her crap partners till at least the semi-final, Although I really felt for her when Dom wouldn't let go! Did anyone notice how quick Darren was over their to pull her away to "console her" More like get her away from that perv!

I think they decide to an extent. Both Arlene and Craig commented on how good Kelly and Brendan's Paso training looked, but they both marked 7 - so, although they may have an idea how they're going to mark, I don't think the final decision is made until the dance on the night.

Dom is just a sore loser, he may have been 'step' perfect, but being in time and actually listening to the music makes all the difference This just makes me extra glad he's gone

The papers tend to spin these sort of things but I agree he didn't seem to lose with any grace. Lilia's face also seemed to show she'd had enough of him too IMO.

On the night I think he was as good if not better than John, but overall his cold ambition and groping was no match for John's musicality and charm.

He should just be happy he got a good run. I can't imagine who was voting for him, all his fellow second hand car dealers

Yes, I think it's a combination of things.

Sorry but what was he expecting? He was one of the worst dancers in the show and the only one who had literally no timing and rhythem at all!!!! You didnt see Gabby going around saying the votes were fixed and she was destined to be in the final 4 or 5!!!! What an idiot!! Just goes to reiterate why I really didn't like him!

Der Chef says

I am reading too much between the lines here but is he suggesting that the judges know how the public voting has been going during the week and have been adjusting their marks accordingly

I dont think it is , but if it was the BBC would have OFCOM really jumping on their head after all the recent phone in scandals

Ohhh Yeah

When you think that Carol never got a 30 (perhaps did she did eventually?) she put in some lovely performances - way higher than Doms, so 25 seems right to me.

I do think Lilia looked completely fed up with him by the end of the programme and I don;t blame her one little bit - especially when she moved his hands swiftly upwards. What on earth was he thinking of when he did that?

I think that is a step too far.

Although press interest/coverage could give an indication on who is popular among voters.

Not criticising but I think Carol got 34 for both her dances in her last week.

Not much to say about Dom, other than, bad loser. Get over it. You were never going to win so you had to go at some time.

Last weeks up-ending of the leader board would have given them a pretty good idea too, I think.

Indeed.

It's hardly like a court of law when the jury is advised not to discuss etc.

No problem. I did question it myself. What I wanted to refer to, were the weeks when she was struggling to get a 30 (I remember her mentioning how she really wanted one, the comments were of improvement, but the 30 still aluded her - at that time) All of those dances she did were better than Doms and she was still getting under 30.

I honestly can't see Doms argument. He was very reasonably placed in the judges table and that is what matters. I just think he is bitter at not being popular and probably also feeling a fool for saying - in the week - that Gabby went because the public like to see journeys and he as well as some others are journeyman. I don't think he could see that he wasn't going on anything other than a minor 'journey'. Matt, Letitia and Gethin have all had weeks when they have come out and danced like different people.

There is a bit in the Daily Record as well, using some of the same wording.

Ah yes, Carol last year was one of the worst examples of someone doing good dances, and most importantly improving, who just never got beyond a certain mark bracket (until the end). I feel Lettita is this year's Carol (possibly Gethin too).

Maybe it's a case for a wider scoring system ? - 1-15 maybe, so everyone isn't just around the 7's when they're 'average' but can make a steady progress up to the top. As it stands now, the dance may not be an 8/9/10 (for the really amazing ones technically etc.) but is still good and with 1-10 there's nowhere really to go or express that improvement without giving top marks.

For me, Dom was overmarked really - he should have started in the /3's4's/5's (which for some reason is considered really bad when really '5' is an average mark !) and aspired to a 7. Let alone 7 being too low ! Cuh.

Whilst not defending Dom I think the judges have assisted this situation to happen.
At least two of them said when voting for John on Saturday that they wanted to see him do the salsa. What they should be doing is judging John and Dom on their performances in the dance off. At least that's what I thought they should do and it's also what a BBC spokesperson said in the Mirror article.

Now if I put my cynical head on, I'd say that Lilia wanted an out to allow her to visit her sick father (quite understandable) and voting Dom who wouldn't have lasted much longer anyway did just that. As Dom works for the BBC, he goes along with it has a rant and provided the programme with the publicity for this week.....OK I know but I did say I'd changed my head

It doesn't surprise me at all, just look at what he said on tv live I can easily believe this would be something he say afterward. It does his career no good.
