Picture should be pretty reasonable, but the sound may be a bit poor? - but Samsung's don't seem bad sets.

Load of rubbish - as long as it's an individually screened lead it will be fine, and it doesn't matter how much you spend you almost certainly won't see any improvement except over absolutely crap quality ones.

Towser, there's various threads on here about tuning Samsung TVs (specifically the R88 series but will probably apply to yours too). Have a play with the search facility.

First thing is to alter the default picture setting, they all seem to come set to the most vivid setting (for display in a shop) - change that for 'standard' and go from there.

A good tip is to adjust your TV according to the THX stup guide which can be found on some pxar DVD's like Monsters Inc.
Give it a whirl - it's made a big difference to my CRT unit.

Cool link, I have finally got ride of my Ghosting by turning off Movie Plus.
Watching programs which had complex backgrounds was awful before.
I even found out I could record off the TV's built in freeview.

I'm not sure about the colour settings though I may need to tweak them myself as sometimes they look washed out.
