Speakers to go with an LG 37" TV, Suggestions??????

Hello there fellow Digital Spyers. this is my first post in this section i wonder if there are any posters out there wise enough and kind enough to help me with my issue! I have just bout a 37" LG LCD television. This one to be precise

http://www.dixons.co.uk/martprd/stor...m=null&tm=null

The thing is I was thinking of getting a 5.1 or even 2.1 sound setup for it as I know the sound on these TV's doesnt tend to be too great. Im worried about lack of bass really.

What im wondering is can I but a set like this?

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Creative-Ins...4267430&sr=1-1

or

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Alba-SPKRKIT...4273355&sr=1-3

will they have an amp built in already? I cant quite figure it out.

I'm not looking for some amazing home cinema system, not even overly worried about it being 5.1. I just want something that is going to be noticably better then the TV speakers with a decent sub to give me a nice rich deep end. I dont want to spend load but i suppose upto £80-100 max.

any ideas advice?

replies greatly appreciated!!

Dont laugh I spent time to give you an answer.

You have bought a good TV which you are worried about the sound, based on others opinions, therefore you havent took delivery yet.

Wait until you have then make up your own mind.

You would probabally been better buying off line and spending the savings on an amp.

I saved over £300 this way.

Not if you are wanting a certain amount of quality, especially in the bass department.

The systems you have linked to are for the PC if I'm not mistaken, so they probably wouldn't be compatible with your TV, I believe these are connected via a 3.5mm audio out socket.

The system mlythaby has recommended is the kind of system you should really be considering.

I'm not laughing at you, more my own plight of not having that sort of money to spend on the speakers. Seems a bit flash for what I'm after.

I get the TV tomorrow so you never know I might be more then happy with the sound. Just wondered what the "budget" speaker system set up would be if I fancied getting some. Nothing fancy like I say it doesnt need it to be overly loud its not a big room. Just trying to find the cheapest way of getting a bit of low end! no pun intended!

I thought this may be the case! Might have to see then and maybe upgrade to something like that around Christmas time. I would ask more in the shops but you cant seem to get a knowledgable, unbiased opinion in those places anymore.

We recently purchased a 32" LG (32LC56) and IMHO the sound is excellent so you might not need to do anything. BTW, it has a full graphic equaliser.

A graphic Equaliser - the scurge of 80's Hi Fi systems

You can set the sound how you want it, what's not to like?

A good quality hi-fi doesn't require a graphic equalizer, a poor quality product needs one to hide the deficiencies in either the speakers or output amplifier - or both.

As you wish, but is it not useful to be able to adjust the sound so as to allow for the effect of room furnishings, the deterioration of high frequency hearing with age, and for personal preference?
