I have a dvr 540hx-s and i don't use the gudie+ system partly because the digital epg has everything i need and i can't get my head around how to use the gudie+ system so can't be arsed trying to mess around with it anymore if the digital epg has everything i need anyway!

So as i don't use the gudie+ sysyem is there anyway of stopping the machine coming on and waking me up betwen 3am and 5am if i don't use the gudie+ as that seems to be the only reason it comes on to update the gudie+, and as i only use the digital epg does anyone know a way that i can stop it coming on to update at 3am as its going to be so anoying if i don't use the gudie+ as the dvd is in my bedroom??!!

Have you selected Digital epg in the initial setup?
As the Guideplus epg should not download its epg,if you have selected the Digital epg.
Are you sure its not the digital epg downloading its epg,as that downloads overnight too at around 4am,I think.

i'm sure its the gudie+'s as it says in the manual that the gudie+ will download the info between 3am and 5am!

If you check the Guideplus system information screen,it should show what time the last and next download times,then you'll know for sure that you are using the Guideplus epg.
Then go to Initial setup,and select digital epg,then you shouldn't have this happening.
