Now it's getting slightly milder people are starting to wrap up but I'm still noticing women in skirts. I was just wondering what kind to wear that wont look wrong.
What is a suitable skirt to wear in the winter?

Now that is going a bit too far.I prefer calf length ones with nice boots but that's just me.
If you go to my home town in the evening, you will still see skirts that could pass as waist bands the whole winter through. Nothing worse than a short skirt with cheeks lower than the hemline
again many seen around my home town.

I've been wearing ones with layers; I had a white silk one, with black lace overlay, on yesterday, cut just above the knee. It was stylish, but warm too, since it trapped air between the layers. Today I've got a shortish pinafore dress with T-shirt underneath, which although shorter than I'd usually wear this time of year is very warm, because it's woolen. Most of the time October-March, though, it's trousers, or skirt+boots.
As long as you're wearing tights, I don't see what's wrong with wearing short skirts in the winter. Unless you're legs really don't feel the cold.
Why do people care so much about what people think is acceptable attire anyway?
Frig what other people think about your chosen dress. Those who turn their noses up probably lead sad and empty lives and have nothing better to do than hate on people because of what they wear.
