Well a family member is wanting sky+ (upgraded from normal) but for the price of £49 + £30 installation there needs to be a landline there otherwise it could come to £150 up to £180.

They don't want to keep a landline because of the bills and keeping it minium and they have a mobile contract that suits them.

I don't think it will be possible but is there a way round so the installer can dial back to complete the installation, Such as a minium contract with bt or anything?

all new sky installations need to be connected to a landline for a minimun 12months. this is so that they can keep an eye on the location off the sky viewing card. if you have sky multiroom they have to be connected too.

That you are wrong, You do not need a phone line for just one sub without multiroom.

Go to a private installer: we have been on Sky for five years without a phone connection. Many thousands of British expats in mainland Europe receive Sky+ without a phone connection. Buy What Satellite mag or look in wotsat.co.uk for more info.

For the price of £49 and £30 installation you have to have a phone line in to make the call back to sky to activate,

Now this has been changed and you dont need one for sky, sky+ or Sky HD but this change is only for Sky and others who provide 'on behalf' of Sky such as Sky Authorised dealers, They still have to have a phone line it to make the call back.
