Apple Nano ipod system software

Hi I wonder if anyone can help. We are getting an Apple Nano ipod for Christmas and we want to download various items from the internet. Our pc operates on Microsoft ME operating system. Can anyone tell us whether the software with the Apple ipod is compatible with Windows ME. We recently bought a Sony Ericsson mobile phone and found that the software that came with the phone wasn't compatible with Windows ME
Thanks

Unfortunately iTunes now only runs on Windows XP and Windows Vista.

It hasn't ever been available for Windows Me.

There are some ways around it, but they are quite annoying and involve another computer (running Windows XP or higher).

If you want to see them, you may like to try doing a search on Google for a list of possibilities.

Well it works on 2000 as well I think. You really shouldnt be using ME anymore.

Apple dropped support for Windows 2000 in September.

You can download an older version of iTunes for Windows 2000 but it does not work with the newest range of iPods (iPhone, iPod nano 3rd Generation, iPod classic and iPod touch).

There's also no guarantee that other things like the iTunes store will work in the future.

It's no use to the OP anyway as they don't have Windows 2000.

that's probably your best bet. if your running ME still, it's presumably quite an old PC, so would probably struggle with vista.
