It all depends on whether the judges will have a hand in the decision come the semis (i.e. dance-off). If they do then Kelly and Brendan will definitely be in there instead of one of the others IMO.

I disagree, I thought his cha cha was a good first attempt, dont know why the judges were so harsh. He has good timing and rythmn, and moves well.

Have any of those 3 pros been in the final?

I know of the remaining professionals Darren, Brendan and Ian have. Is that it?

I wasn't in the country for last years Strictly, so I don't know how well Gethin is, this far, sticking to the model of Matt. However, I would love to see him in the final this year!

Me too! But for a selfish reason - so Matt and Gethin can split the teenage female vote..

I actually really liked his cha cha cha, for a first attempt it wasnt bad at all. I think its took him a few weeks to recover from that initial confidence blow from the judges.

I always thought Matt Dawson's "amazing ballroom skills" were exaggerated, and watching that clip of him on ITT tonight attempting the salsa, I marvel at how he got to the finals. He really wasn't very good and what's the point of a journey storyline if you never arrive at your destination?

LOL...just thought reading the title to this thread again that it should really be the other way round (based on this evening's ITT):

Is Matt the new Gethin? - Di Angelo that is, seeing how he looks up to him (wants to emulate him)!!

Kenny is too awful to fit the hunky sportsman journey stereotype. His journey is too short to count.

Gethin looks like the young rugby playing athletic, hunky lad so he fits it. Its not at all clear though that his background is actually hunky enough or anti-artistic enough to qualify. According to wikki. he is a musician, he has done kids TV, whilst Matt 2 was in stage school he was doing school muisicals and he does get sent to learn Ballet as well as train with the Royal Marines by Blue Peter.

Journey stories on SCD though don't need much relationship with fact and its quite possible that people who might vote for Matt 1 thinking he actually was a good dancer by the end might find reasons to vote for Gethin given no one else fits the niche.

If Gethin continues to improve, I'll vote for him. I voted for Matt Dawson all the way through before...just loved him.

I'm liking Gethin more and more..if I had to say my ideal final based purely on the celebs it would be

Matt/Letitia/Gethin

more likely to be Alesha/Matt/Penny I think

I would love Gethin to be in the final, I don't think his latin is that bad, the judges have been a bit harsh, I though he did well on his first week, he moved well and made no errors, his samba was good, he listened to the judges and was moving his hips, but Arlene still said she wanted more hips.

I think he's more of a James Martin. Stylish in ballroom, less so in Latin, and I think he'll just miss out on the final. Sadly.

Except that Matt WAS a good dancer - the best ballroom dancer that's been on SCD, and fully deservant of a place in the final.

Some people just don't appreciate a good Waltz/Quickstep/Foxtrot.

But I'm really starting to like Gethin. He's become one of my favourites and I'd like him to do well

I think Gethin is getting better and better and improving every week and that is what a show what Strictly Come Dancing is all about for me. So yes, I'd love to see him in the final because he has tried so hard and always gives it a go.

I read his page on Wikipedia. He is a qualified pilot and plays the violin and piano. He also was the first civilian to "yomp" with the Marines in a record time. Sorry cannot remember the distance though.
