Bra fitting service.
Hello everyone due to a recent breast reducion well 10 weeks ago now its time for me to get measured for some new bras as my breasts have now settled and all the swelling has gone down, can anyone tell me where the best bra fitting service is on the high street, and who are more accurate with the sizes?
thankyou!!

I take it you watched Trinny and Susannah last night then?
I don't know the answer to your question but my guess would be M&S |

According to the brief bit of Trinny & Susannah that I saw last night, everyone is pretty accurate at sizing their own products, but that size does not stay the same between different suppliers....

I still haven't recovered from being bra fitted in John Lewis, aged about 13.
I'm sure most women are a better judge than they seem to be given credit for of what fits them/is comfortable. I wear back size 36; I'm size 10 in clothes so technically there's no way I should be in that size bras, but the majority of 34s just feel to tight and constrict my breathing. I must have a delicate ribcage, or something. But I'm quite happy to wear a 34, or any other size, if it's comfortable and fits well. |

Marks and Spencers are good, but I'd suggest shopping around for a bra once you're measured as I got one straight after mine and it was really expensive.
I'm pretty sure La Senza do fittings as well so you could also try there. |

As mentioned by starsailor above, John Lewis are very good, and they also sell a range of different brands. However, Rigby & Peller are supposedly the best bra fitting service.

Bravissimo is very good for the larger busted lady - they get you to try on a range of bra's to find the best fit - not a tape measure in sight, different styles may mean you require a different size i.e balconette or sports bra etc.
The fitting ladies spend a lot of time with you and at no time are you under any pressure to buy. I'd recommend it - but their bra's are pricey but they carry a lot of the nice ranges such Freya and the like. |

It's years since I was measured at Marks and the whole experience put me off for life. One thing I wasn't sure about was that the woman measured me wearing my old, wrong size bra. Surely the breasts should be in their correct (lifted) position when they're measured and not lower down like mine were in the wrong bra? When lifted into their correct position I'm fuller in the cup. Needless to say every bra I tried on that was the size she told me just didn't fit right and I was out of the shop in a flash.
How are they supposed to do it? I have visions of them have me take off my bra, cup breast and lift....and it fills me with dread! |

House of Fraser are brilliant. M&S said I was a 34D, which I knew was wrong because the band felt too loose. H of F said I was a 30E, which fitted perfectly. Alas my love of sweets has pushed me into the slightly scary world of a bigger cup size

Its so great to get nice bras for larger breasts (most shops seem to just do old lady type bras). And the clothes are great. I am 34GG and size 12 so this is the only place I can get fitted tops my size. The women in the shops are so helpful too. |

How are they supposed to do it? I have visions of them have me take off my bra, cup breast and lift....and it fills me with dread! What normally happens is that you will go into a private cubicle, tell the size you think you are and the type of bra your are looking for, then they will go & get bras for you to try on in that size. In the privacy of the changing room you will try it on whilst they wait outside. When you are ready they will then come into the cubicle and look at the bra on you, check the straps are correct and that the fit is correct. If it isn't they will get you other bras' to try in a cup up or down or a back size thats different until its the right fit.If you really feel uncomfortable wear a camisole over the bra as they can still check the measurements. I've found John Lewis to be really good and they have a great selection as well.

I found Rigby and Peller a bit of a disappointment, I think it's somewhat over-hyped. I would suggest Marks & Spencer or another department store where you feel comfortable. I hope you find something nice. xx

p.s. I have recently been buying most of my bras in Primark whenever I go to the UK. £4 and matching pants for a quid! Not sure what their range of sizes is, though. xx
