Can anyone help in setting up a Toshiba 42z3030d.
I don't yet have a HD source, only built in Freeview and a upscaling dvd player.
Trying to understand the manual, I think Professor Stephen Hawking would struggle.
It is mainly the best picture set up I need.
Many thanks.

Isn't the best picture set-up the one that looks best to you? Everybody's different, that's why you can change the settings. There's only three or four things to alter - brightness, colour, contrast and sharpness. Try adjusting each and store what looks best to you. If there was a best setting for everybody, and all other settings were worse, why would Toshiba allow you to change it to make it worse?

Exactly, it's like asking how high they should turn the volume up!
