I'm all for people discussing the good and bad, but too many people seem to be confusing SCD with Big Brother. Of course personality comes into play on a show like this, and everyone will have favourites and the competitive nature means that supporting one couple can mean finding fault in their competitors, but it's taking away from the enjoyment of the show, the dancing and the fun of it all for me at least.

At least on BB, there are contestants who are nasty, and who quite deliberately wind each other up and so on, and they all know that's what the show is about.

SCD should be about dancing, but if someone has a good personality, that's a bonus. If they are a bit dull, or a bit of an air-head, so what?

It's grasping at straws to complain about Kelly being filmed doing some modelling between rehearsals. If the tv presenters can keep doing tv presenting while they are doing SCD, then the models can keep on modelling. Perhaps people don't like the idea of models with calendars or underwear ranges, but this isn't something new for Kelly, and they've always sold well enough, so why should she stop doing it this year?

Why was it offensice and what nerve did it strike? Are you Karen Hardy?

Maybe she is , I'm sure most of the pros do read the forums or someone does for them .

Well, if she is then she needs to grow a thicker skin or refrain from reading the "I am so disliking Karen Hardy" thread - it's quite up-front about its content!

As someone else has said anti threads and posts say more about the person posting than about the celeb or pro.

They are also written in part to try and wind up fans which seems a shame. Its very easy to sit in front of a computer and write such things when you know they would never say them to their face.

Emma and Zoe didn't fail to win simply because there were many here who disliked them.

With the least popular poll I think people vote for the person they would never ring up and vote for on the show and for a lot of people that is Kelly and Brendan (and not unsurprisingly I might add).”

I think you have misunderstood my post so I'll spell it out. I think some people are voting against Kelly because they see her as the biggest threat to the person they want to win. This is also why they are so keen to find anything they can to discredit her.

Speaking for myself as a Matt/Alesha fan I think their biggest competition are Matt/Flavia.

Must remember to vote for them on least fav poll next week

That's probably the best thing I've read all day.

If, for some bizarre reason, any of the zelebs or dancers from SCD desired to have a private meeting with me to learn my views on their giggle/tearfulness/pretentious mannerisms or some such, I would be more than happy to oblige them with my opinions.

But this is an internet discussion forum and many people actually welcome the anonymity in order to express views that they dare not in real life. That is part of the the reason people value forums as a public discussion space. The honesty.

I believe BB is a show about celebrities bored doing nothing, and their personalities showed through.

SCD is a show about celebrities focused on doing something, and their personalities showed through.

The program about dancing was called Come Dancing, where personalities did not show through. That series died owing to audience apathy.

IMHO personality is not a bonus, more a necessity.

Well you obviously misunderstood the point of mine so...

Lots of people are voting for Kelly/Brendan on the least favourite poll because they simply don't like THEM not because they see them as a threat.

510 people voted on the MOST LIKED poll,
476 people voted on the LEAST LIKED poll,

so for simplicity that's assume the same people voted in both polls, unless anyone has another suggestion.

41% "most like" Alesha, this is by far the biggest fan group, far ahead of the next biggest fan group for Matt at 13%.

48% "least like" Kelly, by far the biggest foe grouping, outdistancing Kenny at 17%.

The question is whether the great majority of those who voted for Alesha also voted against Kelly. The converse trend would be unlikely, as 10% "most like" Kelly but only 5% in total "least like" Alesha.

It's a question to which you will never have an answer. And, what about the odd 34?

Look at the history over the weeks.

Least fav Week 3 Kelly and Brendan 22 %
" 4 " " 22 %
" 5 " " 34 %
" 6 " " 48 %

Fav week 3 Alesha & Matt 40 %
4 " " 42 %
5 " " 33 %
6 " " 41 %

Think it has more to do with Kelly and Brendans antics over the past couple of weeks than anything else.
Gabby was also very high on the least fav poll for a few weeks and since she`s left I think people have switched to Kelly and Brendan but then again I think it was down to their antics.

Alesha and Matt took a dip in week 5 due to Matt and Flavias increased popularity and excellent routine that week.

That is your point of view and I wouldn't expect you to hold any other. One thing I do know is that the people both here and on the BBC's website who are hurling mud pies at Kelly and Brendan nearly always turn out to be fans of Alesha and Matt.

Do we think these two women are polar opposites?

Do the two have anything in common, apart from monopolising the top two score slots?

Maybe because there are more Alesha and Matt fans than any other?

I honestly don't see it as a 'threat' thing at all because in truth Kelly and Brendan are probably too disliked on the whole to be a threat. Matt and Flavia appear to be the biggest competition - do you see Alesha fans 'hurling mud pies' at them though?...

Why, because I`m a fan of Aleshas and Matts or because I`m not too keen on Kelly. <I quite like Brendan, especially his dancing>

First couple of weeks figures actually speak for themselves.

Oh and btw I havent voted on least favourite thread this week and last week I voted for Matt and Flavia as my favourite

But that's the difference isn't it, in the situation you are describing, they are asking for your views. When someone starts a thread 'I am so disliking ...' it's not in response to anything. Just imagine walking up to everyone that you know superficially but are not particularly keen on and saying I really dislike you because of ....
