As a Matter of Interest?
Botspot

As a matter of interest, seeing that none of the dancers have yet danced, how many of you have already put in votes: -

1) for their fav no matter what

2) for their favs on past dances

3) for their favs on up and coming dances

Also how many votes will you be putting in on Saturday for the same reasons.

I myself don't vote because i have been put off by all the phone scams, I have made the trip to the bank and pledge my money for CIN that way.

There are 4 dancers that I like very much Alesha, my top fav, Letitia, Matt & Gethin my second favs(all the making good progress and enjoying the dancing now that they are into it) Kenny & Kate for the laughability factor for them trying so hard but failing in their attempts to dance but still having fun, Kelly (sorry someone had to be, like Emma last year)for the booability factor, I just can't take to Keyy and I have never taken to Brendan the tw*erp, and John & Penny for being in no mans land, they are good but not good engough to go all the way which is a shame.

I always vote three times on the night. All for my current favourite, Alesha, although sometimes I might sneak one vote in for another couple if I feel particularly strongly about them.

I know some people vote for their favourite beforehand because they have trouble getting through on the phonelines on a Saturday night - I never do but I vote from my mobile.

I'll vote before the 17th Nov show because I'm going to see the Foo Fighters that night and so won't be in.

I'm doing the same as you above so I'm watching this on Sun's now. That way I can see the results show immediatley after the dancing.
In the past I used to only vote once on the Sat night after all the couples had danced. I would vote for the best dance of the night (imo).

I don't vote for the same reason as you - I don't trust these systems.

I like the following: Alesha, Kelly, and Matt - the best dancers. Leticia is fast catching them up. I also like Gethin and John. Kenny and Kate I like for their perseverance and hard work in the face of often scathing reviews.

I think there is no need to be overly concerned , there were no scams connected to this type of pro gramme at the BBC , the money does not go to the BBC but to CIN ,. The BBC problem was entirely different and did not involve money .
It was GMTV and Ant and Dec and one or two other ITV shows which falsely took many millions from those who were phoning .

Sorry, I know there wasn't any money involved but Blue Peter viewers were scamed over naming a kitten, can't remember all the details but the name was pre arranged and the viewer choice wasn't chosen.

All the channels except BBC2 have been involved in some sort of phone scam and for that reason I no longer vote in anything that I have an interest in, i have donated my phone to CIN via my bank, but I mental vote for my favs on SCD, does that count lol.

I used to put in one vote a week for my favourite dance. But these days I don't bother voting. I know every little helps, but I wonder what the point of my one vote is against people who put in 10 or 20 a week for their favourites.

I also don't like the "vote for your favourite couple" concept. If more votes were placed on the actual dances themselves I may be more inclined to vote.

(Don't I sound like an old grump )

I vote for matt about 3...4....5 times every week no matter what!!!
and if he performed really badly one week i'd probably double or triple those numbers!!!

I thought you were concerned about people being cheated out of money , sorry .
I am more inclined vote than to donate as I have particular causes I like to support .

I think CIN might make more money if we were asked to vote to eliminate one of the couples ! having said that no doubt this route was considered and vote for your favourites produces the most voting .

No its just not the money, I guess I just don't trust phone votes anymore if the phone scams hadn't occured I would merrily vote knowing that what I spent not only helped my fav dancing couple but also I was giving money to CIN.

To be honest I have only voted in two show SCD & Big Brother and it was Big Brother that made me vow never to phone vote on a TV show ever again.

I never vote. All phone votes are dodgy imo!

As regards to voting to eliminate, I seem to remember they were planning on doing that in the original Pop Idol and changed at the last minute as they had been alerted that this format is open to fraudulent voting. I have no idea what difference it makes but maybe that's why they do it this way.
