TalkTalk 18418 Not Working
Riad
09-11-2007
Hi,

For the past 2 days the 18418 access code for my international calls with Talktalk has stopped working. I'm on Talk3 International which includes free calls to the USA and Canada amongst others. However numbers that I always dial, all of a sudden using the 18418, I get "the number you have dialled has not been recognised." Hence I have had to dial these calls direct (without the 18418 prefix).

Am on the phone to talktalk now... this lady in the Indian call centre cannot give me an explanation why the 18418 isn't working, but has advised that if I dial the number direct I shouldn't be charged?? Is this correct information? ...I am skeptical... cos back in the day when I originally signed up I *HAD* to dial the access number to get the calls for free... has something changed?

If anyone knows I would appreciate it.

edit: have just been transferred to a UK call centre and the very nice young chap has ALSO advised that I should get those calls to US/Canada for free on this package without the 18418 prefix??

I see they've now withdrawn the requiremernt to dial the prefix if the destination is a country in your calling plan.
