Thinking back, it's kind of strange that the battle lines, so to speak, were drawn so early over Rhydian and Leon. How did that come about? They are so different. Like that youtube duet thing that combines their performaces of When You Believe, as if it somehow proves that one is a "better singer". Why would you want to do that?

I didn't watch x-factor last year and didn't really know much about Leona other than Bleeding Love, which I don't like too much to be honest, it;s too breathy and warbly. But I watched a good little overview film on youtube about her time on the show and wow, what a lovely girl and what a fantastic voice.

This thread was a nice place to come for those who didn't like the bashing. But it never stayed on the front page for long. I guess arguing and defending your favourite was more of a draw, understandbly I guess.

Even though Rhydian was obviously disappointed in being runner-up he gave a lovely speech to Dermot on Leon. I wonder if they'll remain friends.

They've both made progress on 'X Factor' in different ways. Leon will obviously have picked up some confidence along the way with his performances and Rhydian has proved (to me at least ) that he can also lend his voice to pop/rock songs whether ballads or uptempo numbers.

It is a lovely photo indeed, I think there is such genuine warmth there. The attitude from Rhydian and his family has consistently been one of gracious defeat and reiterating good wishes to Leon. It was the tabloids that made it seem otherwise. It's such a shame that all this controversy has got out of hand, it will only hurt both of them in the end.
