Since the day they were announced back in January i have been in love with them and known loads of stuff about them and followed them and stuff. So today i was in the metrocentre and i seen them so i had a go on one! It was more awesome than i expected!

I took a picture and sent it in an email then posted on a forum i go on, all on the iPhone! I love it!

I posted the video of it here: http://youtube.com/watch?v=zAhkapJKrpg

I'm really excited about this! What were other people like the first time they seen one or are they still waiting?

Isn't the only difference that the Touch hasn't got a phone built-in?

My sister bought one last night. Not impressed at all. Very heavy compared to my mobile and no video record feature either. I appreciate it being heavier in so much as you have the phone included with an ipod but too bulky for me. Like my women, i like them small, slim and mobile.

It is a nice looking, all in one device but with many limitations.

And remember, if your Iphone breaks, you lose your phone and ipod at the same time. Not for me......and way too expensive and also on the wrong network. I wonder if it will be timed to break down after the warranty period expires? I suspect it will suffer some of the usual Apple glitches, especially the usual poor battery performance or hard drive crash. Maybe i am just being too scepticle. I speak from experience.

I'd be very suprised really if an iPhone experienced a hard drive crash!

I am a gadget lord and the iphone to me is one sexy bit of kit. (I know its limitations)

But I just dont fancy losing it down the back of a cab in a pub etc !!!

What I am saying is with my alcoholic tendancies its not wise having a £300 bit of kit ready to lose !!!

I'd lose it too otherwise I'd have one. I've got and old cheap PAYG Sony that I could take to the pub but if I had an iPhone I'd use it to pull the chicks due to the fact my face can't! It would be lost and I'd be be gutted. But yes I'd love one but I'll never own one because I'm a tit!

Oh and it's a rip 'em off on the current deal but hey, that may change.

Timed breakdowns and battery failures. Get a grip mate.

A few iPods had battery problems years ago. My click wheel iPod is still fine after three years.

It was meant as a general dig at Apple...............notorious for the many glitches that ALWAYS seem to happen after the warranty period has just expired [read customer reviews on amazon etc]. Regardless of what method it uses to store your music, something usually goes wrong ! Remember the new Nano when first released.............broken screens etc. The new Touch is beset with problems too apparently. So maybe you see where i am coming from. Most problems simply arise from poor build quality often sacrificed for "sexy looks".

Clearly not every Apple product is bad, i own 2 Ipods and my daughter is on her second Nano. The daughter had problems with her Nano, it just crashes continuously and the battery is always showing as low when just charged. Been back 3 times for repair, never returned any better.

I have had an American iphone for months now and it is unlocked on Vodafone. It is without doubt the best phone I have had because it is well made, does not feel cheap and is not overly complicated like other phones.

I no longer have to carry my ipod and phone at the same time and can watch you tube, music videos and tv/films on it that I have downloaded.

It is not perfect but if Apple had brought out a 3g iphone with a 5 megapixel camera/camcorder who would be in a rush to buy iphone 2.

I do not like this you must be on AT&T or 02 nonsense it should be sold unlocked. It should be illegal to sell locked phones in this country like France. AT&T customers get a better rate plan than 02 provides.

What if you can just about afford the phone but not the £35 a month? Can those customers just get lost? The price plans need to be £25 a month as a starting point for more people to afford it.

I am glad that I bought my American one though because the sound is not restricted by EU regulations which makes it much louder. I cant buy from itunes over wifi because I will not update my software but I rarely buy on itunes anyway.

i have heard nothing but reviews saying that it was a jack of all trades but master of very few,so i opted for the ipod touch and keep my current camera phone.i will reconsider later perhaps when iphone v2 or 3 is released(as things will probably get better)

I never buy the 1st gen model of anything. I bet you in 6-12 months time there will be a much smaller model out with more features and a bigger HDD.

And the battery life would be shit and it would be far larger and heavier to compensate. Apple have made compromises to try and get the best rounded product they can based on current limitation.

Why do more people have to be able to afford it? Apple/O2 target their products to reach portions of the market to try and make as much profit as they can. Just because more people could afford something at a cheaper price doesn't mean that it would offset the loss of revenue from those people who would have bought it anyway at the higher price.

yeah - because it's such a brick!

yeah - it's not as tho' apple have ever been known for their good reliability or anything...

haven't used one, but have had a play with the ipod touch, and thought the touch screen worked brilliantly for zooming / panning websites, and scrolling through music etc.

call me old fashioned, but usability and UI is more important to me than a bunch of features i'd never use anyway.

again - if only apple were known for better build quality.

actually i know someone who's BMW broke down the other week, so clearly BMWs are totally unreliable too.

seeing as the screen takes up most of the total size, then it's not going to get much smaller without making the screen smaller.
