This is not a thread to talk about Kate's dancing...its pretty obvious that its (the Latin ones anyway!) terrible.

What frustrated me tonight in particular is the way she begs for votes, over and above how the other couples do - when what she's basically saying is keep me in over someone standing behind me when based on the performance she'd just given would be a travesty.

To say 'We'd love to stay in' is one thing - to cry out 'DOn't desert us now' is another.

Even Anton seemed embarrassed at Kates dancing and for the first time in all the series has he really become quite harsh to a partner - she seems to be irritating him with her attitude to.

She never commits to the dance - unlike Kenny who goes for it even after getting horrible comments.

She's not having to lead like Kenny or Gethin or any of the male dances and yet she can barely stand straight.

She doesn't even seem embarrassed at her dancing...

I'm not saying she has to leave the competition without being voted out - but she shouldn't be begging to stay - even holding her hands together begging in the background in the end when Tess was talking.

She looks so miserable in training, and totally exhausted. She also looks so uncomfortable at all times when dancing...she begs for votes but it's like her heart isn't in it...I don't think she actually wants to stay.

Anton, however, looks totally embarassed and seems to have given up entirely.

Me!! I can't stand her- she irritates the hell out of me- people have moaned about kelly and her 'who me' but Kate is worse with her little girl attitude- the lip biting and the sleeve tugging- I can't bear to even watch her let alone listen to her!!

I think she went for it. I don't think Anton was embarrassed for her or about her. It's one thing if you don't like her dancing or think she is terrible (actually she is), but would you like her to say "Please don't vote for me, because I'm crap?". Highly unlikely, and not very good for children in need. I've not voted for her tonight, because she wasn't the most entertaining, but her attitude is normal (considering she is a crap dancer), and understandable, she would be stupid not to beg for votes.

I don't think she has thrown herself into it. She is afraid of embarassing herself by acting sexy but yet her bad dancing is just cringey to look at.
If she is not in the bottom 2 this week I swear I will blow a gasket (whatever that means)

Her attitude is annoying me, the way she begs for votes at the expence of all the celebs who even on a off day are far better than her, she wobbles even when she is clinging to Anton, I agree it is harder for the male celebs to lead and I think the judges should take this into account when marking.

Blimey, you should really get out more! Think any thread entitled "this isnt about her dancing" underlines everything thats wrong with alot of the audience of the show :P

Why jibe away at her, when its quite blatant that theyre obligated to plead for votes - wouldnt look great for the Beeb if they said "dont bother voting for us, we know our limitations and therefore we couldnt care less about the children in need money our votes may have contributed to" :P

At first I thought 'good on you girl, you've got a sense of humour about it!'. Jan's 'I hope you're satisfied' attitude last year really put me off and I felt she was too intense and took herself too seriously, but oddly now the opposite attitude is annoying me in Kate.

Everyone is taking it so seriously now, really *trying* and I just get the feeling she's not now. Technique is one thing, but I feel she's letting herself be dragged around by Anton when just putting 100% in would in some cases make up for her lack of dance talent (as in with Kenny) and then she just goes hyper and giggles and begs for votes.

That's what bothers me. She begs for votes, the public obliges then she spends all week moaning and not committing to anything and lets Anton drag her everywhere. At least Fiona Philips admitted she was unhappy and stopped begging for votes.

Also Austen, the show is essentially a contest. If you went for a job interview, and yet you felt you didnt have the ability of the other applicants, you wouldnt say "dont choose me" to the people who hold your fate in their hands. You would still persuade and plead, not just give up!

I hate all the begging also when it is clear now after 6 weeks that the girl cannot dance and she does not seem to be enjoying the dances. She just seems frozen in fear on the dance floor and her legs incapable of moving. It is no longer entertaining but embarressing.

Well we'll all stand well back then because unfortunately I think she still has a fanbase.

And for those voters who look for a 'j' - she is actually improving - although not as fast as Kenny or Gethin.

I agree she is gone the moment she is in the bottom two - but the public are fed up with the judges' final say and consistently desert anyone they feel the judges have over marked. So definitely Penny, possibly Kelly or John. Letitia may be safe by virtue of crying and receiving appropriate marks.

But is she? She did one okay dance...where she didn't need to do much (Anton did all the Foxtrot work) and her salsa was actually worse than her samba so she's not improved at all? Even Kenny has improved and he actually looks like he enjoys what he does. He gives it his all, Kate holds back until she's virtually comatose.

I'd understand and sympathize if she was dreadful and begged for votes and then THREW herself into training and loved it and gave it the energy and commitment Penny did tonight on the dance floor. She doesn't though. She's vacant and awkward and, so it seems to me, just doesn't try at all.

She needs to go now, and allow far better dancers and those who are putting in 100% to go forward.

Ok, so her begging is annoying people. If she was crying that would annoy other people (and she would have reason to cry considering the remarks). If she was miserable (like Dom), people would attack her for that. If she wasn't reacting at all, we would think her soulless and sullen and uninteresting. Maybe we should send her a petition how we would like her to react next time.

I just want to point out again, I'm not a huge supporter and I didn't vote for her, but seriously what do people expect? I'm sincerely curious about this.

It's not the begging when she's talking to Tess...everyone does that. It's her every 3 or 4 minute begging for votes on GMTV and ITT tha grates...others don't do that.
