They've all done the same at some time year after year, as I said at least she doesn't pull out the pity me I'm crying card.

Just because someone asks for votes doesn't mean people have to.

I actually voted for the first time this week, for Kate and Anton because they made me laugh so much, not because she asked for votes.

No, she did the "pity me I've got tendonitis" (which lasted 2 days) card

The "pity me I'm out of my confort zone"

The "pity me I work so hard and have a kid and get up at 3am" card

Not at all, she had an injury but still battled on. Yes she gets up at 3am did she ask the Beeb to broadcast that? I think you'll find that was the producers decision. Yes she is out of her comfort zone as is Letitia.

That's not the pity card it's just facts.

Doesnt it show how we all see things differently

At no time have I seen her begging for votes..just asking as have the others.
Her report on her day to day routine had me thinking how keen she must be to do this.
The tendonitis was actually never mentioned by her after the first week ...

And tonight in the background she was being very supportive of the other teams, cheering on good marks and being very supportive of those getting not so good marks.

Not once has she said or intimated that she has the right to be there and frequently thanks the public.

So leave her alone and stop with the vitriol, please

That's the point. If she really had tendonitis she wouldn't be able to train at all...all she had was a few muscle twinges and milked it...

Some people have genuinely had tendonitis and you can't keep up training.

Of course none of the rest get media coverage??

Kelly seems to have been in the press every day since it was announced she was taking part.

I agree.

The more I read here the more like a school playground it gets.

What frustrated me tonight in particular is the way she begs for votes, over and above how the other couples do - when what she's basically saying is keep me in over someone standing behind me when based on the performance she'd just given would be a travesty.

To say 'We'd love to stay in' is one thing - to cry out 'DOn't desert us now' is another.

Even Anton seemed embarrassed at Kates dancing and for the first time in all the series has he really become quite harsh to a partner - she seems to be irritating him with her attitude to.

She never commits to the dance - unlike Kenny who goes for it even after getting horrible comments.

She's not having to lead like Kenny or Gethin or any of the male dances and yet she can barely stand straight.

She doesn't even seem embarrassed at her dancing...

I'm not saying she has to leave the competition without being voted out - but she shouldn't be begging to stay - even holding her hands together begging in the background in the end when Tess was talking.”

It must be a GMTV thing Austen. I remember her colleague Fiona Phillips doing the exact same thing in the 2005 show. Fiona pleaded with the audience to vote her back as she was going to do the Jive the following week which she assured the audience would be good (yeah right). Sure enough her Rabid Fan Base (R.F.B.) voted her back while the far more talented Jaye Jacobs was eliminated.

The following week Fiona Phillips slaughtered the Jive (naturally)dancing with all the grace of a string puppet. But hey I don't blame the poor dancers that campaign for votes (they evidently need it) but the people that vote for poor dancers

Yeah - the R.F.B. certainly do support the underdog - but she doesn't really feel like an underdog as shes not really a competitor in the dancing competition, just in the popularity one.

And actually she wasn't supportive at all of Kelly and Brendan, but instead was actually laughing and jibing at them with Anton, which made Kelly turn around and say 'Shut up' at one point. At one point I think she was trying to throw something at Kelly - was trying to pull attention away from Kelly when they shouldn't have been.

Whatever the reason for starting this thread Kate should have been out of the competition the first week (only the fact she couldn't take part saved her).

She can't dance and her constant gurning and lip biting get on my wick.

To think we have to watch her stumble round the dancefloor every week while Gaby Logan is sitting on the sidelines is ridiculous.

I feel sorry for Anton he always gets the crap dancers. Last year Jan this year Kate, she sees the show for what it is a game show and an excellant way off raising lots of money for charity. Don't blame her blane the GBP who keeps this loser in.

What I want to know is...who the h*ll is voting for her!? Are GMTV viewers all blind and stupid? The girl just can't dance!!

Series 3 was the shiz.
It's such a shame, I love Anton!

Hmm... I don't much like her dancing, but I think she's alright, attitude-wise, personally... I certainly don't have a problem with people begging for votes, 'cause at the end of the day that shows some kind of devotion to not only the competition, but also the charitable cause.

I do understand why people find it annoying, but it's all fair enough as far as I'm concerned.

But Matthew went out in Week1 in SCD3 though so it wasn't all good. Besides I thought Ian and Zoe got ripped off! They were way better than Darren Gough IMO (and I'm sure yours too). Colin would've given them a run for their money in the final I guess but "muppetgate" would've taken care of them!

The frustrating thing about watching Kate is that she never commits to the performance. She gives up mid move ala Fiona Philips.

Anton mentioned on ITT that he's not letting her watch any performances but I think he needs to sit her down and MAKE her watch herself on an endless loop so she gets over the silly cringing business...then get her to look at Kenny's Samba/ Paso and Penny's Jive/Salsa. Neither were perfect but both fully commit to the steps .... and it looks sooooo much better....even when it isn't technically correct.

So needs to be drummed into her (and quick) if she wants to stay in the show.

Oh yeah, I forgot about Matt! Oops...it's cos I wasn't really into Strictly until Ian came on in week 1 of series 3 and by then, Matt had already danced. It wasn't till week 3 that I started my first ever SCD tape (and felt mighty sad so promptly hid said tape). And now I'm a crazy obsessed addict with no life! Yay!
Yar, Ian was robbed of the title but at least I got to see him do every dance.

I think I went off topic...so...Kate? Yeah she's...ok.

Well, quite frankly I'd rather watch Anton any day. (Not that his Latin's great either) I just wish he'd wax his chest!

Not sure I'm with you there buddy. As much as I've warmed to Anton this series (he is a very funny guy)...I'm not particularly bothered about his chest or the rest of him for that matter.
