i think my plasma has gone fauly somewhere
when i play on my 360 and watch the telly i can see green pixels sometimes about 30 in a small area
mostly on dark colours

is it worth getting it repaired or is it more cost infective to buy a new one

anyone got any ideas what it could be
this is what it looks

Going by that picture I wouldn't immediately suspect the PDP (the panel), but a lot depends on what make it is, and what the service procedures (if any?) are.

In any case, Plasma (and LCD) repairs are extremely expensive - repair bills are usually hundreds, not tens, of pounds - and many will charge a £60-100 fee just for looking.

Make it 'accidentally' fall on the floor and claim the insurance.

A lot of the Hitachi's are cheap Vestel sets, they have a reputation for poor reliability.

Try posting the model number on here, there are some Hitachi agents on the forums who can tell you if it's Vestel or not.

A quick search of a trade spares site looks like that may be an Hitachi manufactured set?. It lists three panels, PSU, Ysus and Zsus - presumably these are all common parts people order?. All are in the £100's (from £260 - £530).
