I'm sure it must have been done before, but I've not seen it since I joined. Anyway, it was inspired by one of the threads over in General Discussion.

But if you were planning it, what 3 songs would you choose? Feel free to be as serious or comical as you like - popular or classical - but I am officially removing 'Going Underground' by The Jam from the allowed list

First time I heard this I told my kids I wanted it played at my Funeral. I shall be laughing all the way from the gates of hell.

Suite Pee - System of a Down

I would also have:

Light My Fire - The Doors
She's an Angel - Pharrell [nothing like a bit of irony!]

Natalie Merchant - King of May

"Raise your loving cup... to his long life"

Tori Amos - Gold Dust

How did it go so fast/we'll say as we are looking back/and then we'll understand/we had gold dust in our hands"

Kate Bush - Sunset

Who knows who wrote that song of Summer
That blackbirds sing at dusk
This is a song of colour
Where sands sing in crimson, red and rust
Then climb into bed and turn to dust

Every sleepy light
Must say goodbye
To the day before it dies
In a sea of honey
A sky of honey
Keep us close to your heart
So if the skies turn dark
We may live on in
Comets and Stars

I was actually thinking of this on Friday, and was going to start a thread on what songlist you would want to be played at your wake. But someone has beat me since I've not been on since then.

not sure what songs I would want at my funeral, i know for a wake I would want basically just all my favourite songs but I'm not sure if its the same for my actual funeral.

Think I would have to go for

Imogen Heap-Speeding Cars (unless I was killed in some sort of road accident, then Who Knew-Pink or Slipped Away - Avril Lavigne (Love the song and everyone would be in tears!)

Kelly Clarkson-Because of You

Champagne Supernova - Oasis
