He'd be fun doing "Monster" by the Automatic - seriously! I love him but that's why - because he's flamboyant and up for any challenge.

I've got tons of other suggestions for him but aside from the above I've mentioned them on other threads so wouldn't want to sound too repetitive, if I think ofanything else though I'll add it here!

Queen - You Take My Breath Away. But only because it's my favourite Queen song! I wonder if he can play the piano...

I have always thought a Bond theme night would be great. The producers missed a trick last year as they could have timed it to coincide with the release of Casino Royale.

As for what Rhydian could sing in a Bond themed night, IMO he would be spoilt for choice. Either of the Shirley Bassey numbers - Goldfinger or Diamonds Are Forever - would be brill, as would Matt Munroe's From Russia with Love, or Louis Armstrong's We Have All the Time in the World.

I'd love to hear Rhydian sing Elvis ballads like

Its Now or Never
Surrender
Can't Help Falling In Love With You
Love Me Tender
Wooden Heart

What I love is the fact that so few songs are out of bounds. You think of a good track and your mouth waters at the thought of what he could do with it.

How about 'Fields Of Gold?' I know that its quite a gentle song, but Rhydian has a lovely gentle tone to his voice at times and think he would make me cry singing this song cause I love it!!!

Loved his version of 'You Raise Me Up' and agree with Louis and Simon that it is the best version of the song that I have ever heard!!!

Fields of Gold would be lovely and Babylon would also suit him. To be honest any track gets me excited just as sonnyt just said.

Nearly forgot - 'If I told you lately' would suit him well too.

Any song by Napalm Death on punk week

For the disco theme

Born to be Alive - Patrick Hernandez
Slow Down - John Miles
In Zaire - Johnny Wakelin

So long as it isn't Dancing Queen - too obvious

Niki did sing it, but it wouldn't stop him singing it outside the show - or even on it (Ben and Ray both sang "Smile" during the live shows last year), although i wouldn't advise that.

It's not disco but I don't think this thread's just about song suggestions for this week's Disco night, it's about songs for Rhyd to sing on the live shows in general....correct me if I'm wrong though, and apologies for the non-disco Automatic suggestion

Design For Life - The Manics or Big Spender would be excellent.
The Spoon

DISCO
Let's go round again - average white band
soul man - sam & Dave
oh what a night - frankie valli
disco inferno -

non-disco
(something inside) so strong - labi siffre
yellow submarine/i am the walrus - Beatles
st elmo's fire - john Parr
golden brown - stranglers

thinking about it - he's done so well so far, that I reckon that he'd find a way to do any 'big' vocal song.

I can't say I started out lking him, but his performances have been so good that along with Niki and Beverly, I'm rooting for him.

I expect he'll pull out Nessun Dorma a week or two before the final.
