Not Motown (thinking about that one) but I think he'd do a cracking job of Suspicious Minds

How about War - Edwin Starr OR even better Don't Leave Me This Way - it would be a stark contrast to Jimmy Somerville's version!

I had a brief image earlier of him singing 'You Can't Hurry Love' but then Phil Collins appeared and spoiled it! ![]() (I love the PC version, btw, but not with Rhyd!) |

God reading the wide range of song choices, he'd pull any of them off..

I love that Luna track but no way will X factor allow an opera style song on the show |

‘In the Ghetto’ – Elvis Presley ‘American Trilogy’ – Elvis Presley 'Lately' - Stevie Wonder ‘Those Were the Days of Our Lives’ – Queen ‘The Show Must Go On’ – Queen ‘Don’t Stop Me Now’ – Queen (two talent show contestants have already pulled out of singing this song in the past) ‘Across the Universe’ – The Beatles ‘Something’ – The Beatles ‘The Long and Winding Road’ – The Beatles ‘Nights in White Satin’ – The Moody Blues (previously slaughtered by one talent show contestant but I'm sure Rhydian could pull it off) ‘When I’m Old and Wise’ – The Alan Parsons Project ‘He Ain’t Heavy, He’s My Brother’ – The Hollies ‘Party Fears Two’ – The Associates ‘Hallelujah’ – Leonard Cohen ‘From Russia with Love’ – Matt Monroe ‘With or Without You’ – U2 ‘Through the Barricades’ – Spandau Ballet ‘Don’t Cry Out Loud’ – Elkie Brooks ‘I Believed in Father Christmas’ – Greg Lake ‘Life on Mars’ – David Bowie and, though I doubt it, I can't really leave it out ........................... 'Nessun Dorma' and show tunes: ‘This is the Moment’ – Jekyll & Hyde (a great song for the final) ‘Empty Chairs at Empty Tables’ – Les Miserables ‘Bring Him Home’ – Les Miserables Quote:

Agree with Forever Awkward about song choice - 'Bring him home'. Love that song and Rhyd would do it justice. Or, anything by Tom Jones!

At one point on Go west he does a sort of Tom or Elvis vocal noise. I cant explain it - if youve seen the VT you'll know what I mean.

I think he suits rock/rock ballads. So for me its the usual suspects of:-
Queen, Meatloaf Aerosmith Whitenake Foreigner Stones that come to mind. There's only 2 Queen songs I'd like him to sing and thats Dont Stop Me Now Somebody to love Billie Idol ~ Rebel Yell Whitenake ~Is This Love, Fool for Loving You Meat Loaf Bat out of Hell (no brainer that one) Bad Company ~Feel like makin Love Foreigner ~Cold as Ice The Who ~ Pinball Wizard, Wont get fooled again Stones ~Paint it Black , Sympathy for the devil |

I hope he sings no bloody Queen songs. And no Bowie or anything like that. He's got an amazingly powerful voice, and he should be singing songs that are more operatic without being opera if you get my meaning. There's a wealth of metal out there that he would be perfect for, see Nightwish, Within Temptation, Epica and others. The problem is that the show is too scared to break out of the mold. No offence to Leona, she has an amazing voice, but the songs she produces are very boring, and she has the ability to open people up to different musical styles. I wish Cowell would take a risk and give Rhydian something out of the ordinary to sing, so people actually got to see what a classically trained singer can do

I agree BMoiz. I'm as guilty as anyone for playing safe with song choices but I would love him to take a song by the scruff of the neck and make it his own.

Always by Bon Jovi just wouldnt suit his voice at all.
Agree with someone from another thread, goos choices would be 'True' Spandau Ballet and 'I drove all night' cant think who its by. |
