Loved Louie and Chelsea - think they go really well together. Donny is my favourite - he's great!

I wonder how that will affect the elimination tonight. I assume they will not eliminate any couples and the one who was scheduled to go home will receive a get-out-of-jail card and go through. I think they add the scores and the voting for the next week along with this week for the elimination in week 4. That is my best guess anyway.

Thanks for the info. I'm not surprised about Tom, he's feet looked so painful, and they will only get worse.

Forgive me if I'm wrong but what the hell is a Bolero? I thought it was a routine made up by Torville and Dean for an ice dancing competition NOT a dance in the real world and yet they're dancing it on DWTS next week.
Anyone any ideas? Mind you I guess the Lambada was/is a made up dance too and they're including that as well. |

Torville and Dean's was to a piece of music called 'Bolero' by Ravel. The dance Bolero is in the American Rhythm section of competition along with Cha-Cha, Rumba, Swing and Mambo - I think!.
![]() Thanks for letting me know about the 'bolero' as in the American Dance. I can't wait to see what it actually looks like |

What is the Lambada closest to in terms of style?

Hmmm well having only ever seen it on the video for the song and if I remember rightly I'd guess it was closest in footwork to the mambo/salsa but they seem to stay in hold all the time (or at least did in the video - no idea other than that) and it's hip to hip contact rather than the top half of the body.
Carrie Ann is annoying me a bit though, as she's so obsessed with "illegal" lifts. Len is the Ballroom expert, so she should follow his judgement. She knows a lot about dancing but not about ballroom dancing. |

Carrie gets a lot of complaints. She was a fly girl and not a ballroom dancer. That is why I don't want Len to leave. I know he is exhausted from the traveling but they need someone who is the voice of reason sitting between Carrie Ann and Bruno. If Len did give up DWTS I hope they would pick from someone with genuine ballroom experience.
please. No celebrities with quasi dancing but a true ballroom person with credibility that the public could get know and respect.

I thought I was the only one who finds Carrie really irritating - clearly not. No wonder Len gets grumpy sitting between her and Bruno!
I have no objection to her obsession with 'illegal lifts' as such, but feel she needs to learn the difference between a true illegal lift (one that is actually intended) to something that is clearly a mistake - both feet leaving the floor by accident. Drop marks for the former, yes; but anyone can make a mistake, and the latter should get no more than a friendly warning (at least in the early weeks) ....."Make sure you keep one foot on the floor; next time that might be considered a lift." |

Carrie get's on my nerves and if Len was to leave the show would be a joke! Bruno just screams over everbody and should leave his theatrics to theatre or something. Carrie seems to have favourites and it seem's that Mya is one of them. They both have her a '10' when i think Len was spot on with the '7'. |

Sorry I should have clarified, I knew the music was Ravel's Bolero, it's just these days it's referred to as 'The Bolero' on DOI which was why I referred to it as Bolero (but then I'm probably telling you something you already know! lol) - I was just wondering if the DWTS stars were expected to do a similar routine, to the same music in the ballroom - which would be VERY odd.
Thanks for letting me know about the 'bolero' as in the American Dance. I can't wait to see what it actually looks like I'm looking forward to seeing what it looks like too - according to wiki (I know! Quote:
The first step is typically taken on the first beat, held during the second beat with two more steps falling on beats three and four. In competitive dance the music is in 4/4 time and will range between 96 to 104 bpm. This dance is quite different from the other American Rhythm dances in that it not only requires cuban motion but Rise and fall (Dance) such as found in waltz and contra body movement characteristic of tango
So should be pretty interesting! I suppose it makes sense for them to introduce American Rhythm Latin dance if they already use the American Smooth ballroom style, although over the past two series they seem to be moving away from ballroom altgether Haven't a clue what a 'Texas two-step' is! ![]() Agree with consensus that Carrie-Ann is dreadful and Len is the voice of reason on that panel (shame he seems to leave that at customs when he comes back here!) his comments about Mya's routines in particular have been spot-on I think) |

The Texas two step is a dance done in Texas dance halls. I think you take one big step and then two small steps going in a circle around the floor. John Travolta and Debra Winger did the two step in Urban Cowboy.

You're right that anyone can make mistake but if someone trips or falls do the judge not take some points off so shouldn't they lose marks if it is intended or not?? Also I think a lift should be pointed out but by Len or Craig in Strictly not by Carrie Ann who seems to be the lift police |

I read a short article today that Chelsie and Louie were hoping to go to Texas for some two step practice. I wonder if Ty will make a visit?

I agree that she is obsessed with lifts and there is a difference between a intended lift and a mistake but I don't understand why pros adds nearly lifts at the early stage of the competition when contestants are still battling with nervous and excitement.

Also I think a lift should be pointed out but by Len or Craig in Strictly not by Carrie Ann who seems to be the lift police I remember Brendon with .... was it Kelly Brooke, I can't remember ... doing a deliberate lift and Craig, Arlene & Len all commented on it, and said they would drop them marks (quite correctly imo) but daft Bruno said he loved the routine and gave it a 10! Crazy - he should have had his knuckles rapped for that. [But who knows, maybe he did?] |
