I don't know why they keep messing/experimenting with modern music for latin dances, more often than not it never works.

Another great performance by Kristi....give these guys the trophy now!

I find the judges are OTT with their complimentaries this season. No way Jason Taylor is a great dancer by any stretch of imagination & those 9s ehh??? His hands & top body are so awkward most times.

The only thing i don't like about DWTS is the way they OVER MARK every dance compared to strictly. A 6 to the Americans is considered absolutely disastrous and they are used to getting 8's and 9's for very average dances whereas strictly regularly dishes out 2's and 3's 4's and a 6 is considered a good score early on. I dont understand why they are afriad of being so harsh!!

Other than that though im lovin the show and look forward to hopefully seeing more of young mark ballas jr...he is an AMAZING dancer!!!

Hi guys,

I've decided that the judges scores reflect the performances that week, rather than across a series like here in the UK.

Good standard this season!

There are some 20 reports about last night's show on Google News, here:
http://news.google.com/news?ned=uk&h...ncl=1149374566

One result which came up (and which has just disappeared from that list) was: "Miriama's Shock Exit from Dancing with the Stars".

What?

I hadn't realised that the New Zealand version is also running at the moment.

For anyone interested, there's a report on this week's NZ show here:
http://www.nzrealitytv.com/2008/04/m...cing-with.html

It includes a photo of Brendan and Craig, and a link to some gossip about Brendan, and his girlfriend Zoe Hobbs:

Another item trawled up by Google News is that Julianne Hough is to sing the US National Anthem before the start of the Indianapolis 500 in May.

Full story:
http://www.racingwest.com/news/story.php3/17527/

Apparently she's also a very accomplished singer (what talent!!!), and is releasing her own country music debut album "Julianne Hough", in May.

Thanks for that.

I do prefer Julianne to Kylie!

Last weekend, right as the end of Kylie's 2nd performance, Julianne joined Kylie on the stage for a minute. It struck me how similar they were (in height and build etc). I hadn't realised that Julianne had this record. I wonder what Julianne was thinking.

Lots of reviews of last night's show on Google News this morning:
http://news.google.com/news?ned=uk&h...nG=Search+News

Here are a few quotes:

"Kristi Yamaguchi Reigns On ‘Dancing With The Stars... Kristi debuted a new, sexier ballroom image, allowing Mark to rip out her hair band and let her raven locks flow as they moved their bodies in time with the music... “Wooo Kristi,” impressed judge Carrie Ann Inaba said. “You really did take a risk this week”
More from that author:
http://www.accesshollywood.com/artic...ith-the-stars/

"Kristi shook out her hair and lost her inhibitions -- both attractive developments.... Monday night's episode, which was billed as Latin Night, was the most enjoyable installment so far this season..."
More from that author:
http://blogs.orlandosentinel.com/ent...s-nothing.html

"Did ya notice that all the dude dancers appeared to have lost all the buttons on their shirts? Dancing is quickly becoming a Chippendales review. I'm sure the ladies don't mind.... [On Kristi's pefromance:] You're a married mom who's afraid to dance all sexy with a hot, young thang who's not your husband. So, your solution is to dance all sexy with the hot young thang who's not your husband in front of your husband!"
More from that author:
http://www.palmbeachpost.com/blogs/c...poopy_did.html

Here are the latest betting odds: "Kristi Yamaguchi the 2 - 3 favorite, meaning you would have to bet $3 to win $2. Jason Taylor is another favorite at 6-5 odds. Here you would win $6 for every $5 bet. And our girl Shannon Elizabeth, she would pay $15 for every $1 bet at Sportsbook.com. Bet $50 for Shannon Elizabeth to win this season of Dancing With the Stars and you could walk away with $750."

E! News (Sky 152) is running a short feature on Karina Smirnoff, repeated near the end of each of its news programs today (Wednesday). Karina shows viewers around her 5-bedroom LA mansion. The same feature can be seen on video here:
http://www.eonline.com/videos/v28062...ing__Digs.html

The TV version of E! News today also includes brief clips of Julianne Hough, on the red carpet at the country music awards, "wearing Roberto Cavalli". She was presenting one of the awards.

Showmance anyone? Supposedly, Derek and Shannon were photographed kissing on the beach after the main camera crew went home (for one of those pre-dance training videos):

And shirtless Derek hugging Shannon (this might be part of the VT):

Numerous reports about last night's show, on Google News, here:
http://news.google.com/news?ned=uk&h...nG=Search+News

There's a very comprehensive and detailed review here:
http://weblogs.baltimoresun.com/ente...e_stars_1.html

A few selected quotes, from other reports:

"Jason's footwork wasn't as smooth and precise as it has been in previous weeks... Shannon's the only star dancer who's getting worse each week... If Shannon doesn't go home, Marlee will... The last thing I want to see is Len parading his "bun" in a supermarket as he promised if Cristian landed in The Red Light of Shame [sounds as if Len is repeating the same dodgy joke he made on SCD, and which was edited out here]... I like watching Marissa bounce... I needed a cigarette after watching Mario and Karina's steamy rumba..."
More:
http://www.palmbeachpost.com/blogs/c...taylor_ja.html

"Is it Showmance for Shannon & Derek? In tonight’s episode, host Samantha Harris, who grilled the couple previously about a kiss during a dance, once again cornered the fresh-face actress and the male half of Team Hough, asking Shannon & Derek what exactly is up with their relationship.... After the pair performed tonight’s sexy chemistry-laden Rumba, Samantha questioned them about their chemistry–how much is for the stage and how much is real?... "
More:
http://www.realitytvmagazine.com/blo...shannon-derek/

And for something completely different:
"Dancing with the Stars [game], is now available for Windows PC, online download and mobile phones. Dancing with the Stars lets wireless gamers choose their celebrity and costume while training their way through five exciting mini-games. Players can select from 16 favorite celebrity dancers as they choose to perform the Cuban Cha-Cha..."

Can't post Week 6 Results show just yet as Diane has somehow forgotten the first part!! However there are other people putting the results on YouTube so I'll just have to wait until one of them puts them up.

Sorry!

Might as well post what there is available so far. After all, the first part is simply a round up of all the performances plus the judges choice for a repeat performance so it's not totally essential!

Part 2 featuring Ashlee Simpson (who?)

Part 3 - Riverdance

Part 4 - The Kids

Part 5 - Who Goes Home?

Thanks to Diane

So peeved, I've just been reading David Cassidy's autobiography (showing my age ) & had not realised Katie Cassidy was his daughter (actress on Supernatural).
So I go on the Supernatural website to have a butchers & the bloomin' DWTS result is plastered all over it .
I had to come on here to moan to somebody .

I certainly can understand. I never have the opportunity to watch the original broacast on monday and tuesday nights, so I rely on the ABC dot com website which rebroadcasts the shows the following day online. It's a struggle to not find out who was eliminated. I already know who was eliminated without having watched last nights show. I am going to have to be extra vigilant in the coming weeks as it gets down to the wire.
