I love Maks but I find him tedious whenever he is criticized. I can only imagine if Craig was ever a guest judge how Maks would deal with it.

I agree with Maks that Erin did a great samba and should not have been marked down because of something her pro did, but Len is entitled to his expert opinion and I believe as head judge he should be respected. He is head judge for a reason even if he isn't current with what is going on in today's dance world.

i agree what Maks says about Len giving everyone a seven yet they didn't all dance the same, as i find him, particularly on SCD, very dodgy with his scoring. BUt i agree with Len about Maks taking his shirt off, there was no need and it got on my nerves abit to be honest, and i usually like to see a good bod

I think Maks is a very selfish and egotistical dancer. It's always all about him. All that macho posturing. Shame really. He is a good dancer, although he frequently over-dances and looks faintly ridiculous. I'd hate to be partnered with him. That giant ego would annoy me. Some women, however, would love it

Derek seems to have the most balanced nature of all of them. I really don't want to him to take his clothes off (euww, skinny blonde) , but he is a great dancer, a great teacher and appears to be an all round good guy.

Well he tried to explain in his blog that the shirt coming off was part of the "story" and was indeed part of the dance. But I am not so sure especially after I read that he will continue to take is shirt off. I think he does it to show off. That dance would have been just as good and told the story without him going that far.

Aside from that my main beef with him is his disrepsect of Len and saying he is too old to be judging. As Len would would say that gets on my wick.

Maks is a terrific dancer and choreography but I think his fragile ego gets the best of him at times.

I want to watch celebrities in a dance competition, not people I've never heard of. And I don't take orders from anyone, I'll watch whatever I like, thanks very much!

I haven't seen Pam or Niecy yet, but the other four were fantastic. Only grumble I've got is that however good Chad's lines were, that was NOT a Viennese Waltz.

"Nicole attended the Youth Performing Arts School in Louisville for high school. From their website, in order to be accepted one must audition, including: "Applicants should come to the audition prepared to participate in a short contemporary dance class/audition. ... Applicants are evaluated on their acting, singing, and dancing abilities."

Once accepted, the program itself states: "The four-year Musical Theatre major is designed to prepare those students who aspire to enter a university or conservatory program that emphasizes versatility in the multiple performance disciplines of dance, acting, and singing. During the course of their four years, students study with the faculty of the Dance, Theatre, and Vocal Departments in an integrated and sequenced curriculum (listed below). In Dance, they study Ballet, Jazz, Modern, Folk, and Theatre Dance with a strong emphasis on American Tap dance."

Apparently she then went on to study musical theatre at Wright State University (she apparently didn't graduate, so I don't know how many years she studied there), in which program students in the first year study body movement, ballet & jazz; 2nd year: ballet, tap; 3rd year: theatre dance styles; 4th year: dance elective."

Most singers and actresses/actors have a dancing background.
Maybe they should just hire no talent celebs like reality TV stars. I doubt the ratings would be any good though. If it bothered me i wouldn't watch the show. My favorite has been Pam. I am not bothered by celebs who are talented performers. Beyonce, Shakira or J Lo would be my dream contestants for the show. I haven't warmed to Nicole's personality. I do look forward to her dances with Derek. They are great to watch.

As Len is the only one on both dwts and scd panels (with the possible exception of Craig) who actually knows and understands the technique of ballroom/Latin dancing, it stands to reason his marks are going to differ from the others.

Also I think it is fair to say he will be more sympathetic towards someone who is clearly not good, but really tries hard, than someone who has obvious talent, but is complaisant and doesn't work at it.
