Well that explains it Forceten. How nice to be on holiday. You always do such an excellent job uploading and putting it all in the proper order.

Tom B. had the best line tonight. He said that next season Derek would be choreographing a "quickstep from the renaissance".

Interesting interview with Derek. He talks about Blackpool and living in England and Len. I did not realize he has known Len since he was a boy. Scroll down.

http://www.eagle977.com/morning_archive.php The dance world is relatively small; Len was well respected, and an esteemed coach and judge for many years before Strictly (he was a judge on the old "Come Dancing" show), and even if hadn't known the Ballas' personally, he would have known and judged Derek as soon as he started dancing. |

I couldn't open the article which is a shame. But yes, Derek would have known Len since he was a boy. When Derek's sister, Julianne, danced with Mark Ballas, both she and Derek lived in England with Shirley and Corky, who were then still together.

Article on Mel B. and the hosting gig. I wish she had been chosen instead of Brooke. Mel has so much more personality and I thought she would have played off of Tom. http://www.nbcmiami.com/blogs/popcor...-93697614.html But Tom B. disagrees with article and tweeted this. Quote:
Not true! My butt never complained once!! In fact, it encouraged her..

Mel B has too strong a personality. I think they would have clashed (IMO). Tom needs a 2nd fiddle personality.
I was one of the few (on this board) who liked Samantha. She was pretty and had a fun humo(u)r that was enjoyable. I am warming up to Brooke mainly because she shows a compassion that is something that draws me closer to her. She's been teary a few times when someone was eliminated, and that is something that has endeared me to her. Mel B does not seem to exude empathy. (Im not saying she isn't..) |

I am sorry Kaycee. I tthink they are having trouble with their site because when I tried to reopen it would not load for me either. The DJ was from Blackpool himself so he was interested in Derek's time in England and his thoughts about Blackpool. Derek said Len is a fatherly figure and wants you to do well and get it right. He has known him since he was 11 years old.
As for Blackpool: I once read a quote in an American Dance magazine that went something like: "When it's lunch time in New York, it's 1952 in Blackpool" I've yet to meet many dancing Brits who would disagree! |

More Tom B. tweets. Whatever could this be? Quote:
Tom_Bergeron I'll be revealing something on Monday's DWTS which may surprise both our couples & our viewers. It'll be fuel for the Finals, to be sure!

special PS to the word parsers: 3 couples in finals, as always. No change in 50/50 split between judges & viewers. It's something else.
